In December 2019, the first cases of coronavirus, or SARS-CoV-2, were reported in the Wuhan province of mainland China. Despite the efforts of the Chinese government and other agencies, the disease spread around the world. Public health officials reported cases on every continent. Coronavirus has become a global pandemic, and it has already impacted on the global economy. This, in turn, can radically affect our lives here in the United States. Gun owners remember how guns and ammo were hard to find because of the political climate at the time. What will happen if its a pandemic that affects our ammo supply? What gear will be affected? As we here at Ammoman are in the ammo business, well be looking at how a pandemic might affect your access to ammo. How much ammo do you need for a SHTF* scenario where the supply chain breaks down? How might it affect your ability to buy ammo and enjoy the shooting sports? Lets take a look.

Never enough....or at least you can’t have too much.
20,000 rounds of .22, 10,000 rounds of 5.56 and 10,000 rounds of 9mm or whatever your choice of pistol round is a good start.

WTF!
I can’t imagine a situation where I would need more than a few hundred rounds and that only because I might not be able to purchase more.
22LR is different, a few thousand tho probably even that is more than enough.
You’ll be stone dead before you can have it. One minute, you’re peeling carrots into the dustbin and then next, you’re queuing up at Saint Peters and hoping you can remember a Bible verse or two to get in.
Yes, all of it. A good mix of 12ga rounds, at least one good rifle caliber, a good pistol caliber and .22lr.
Always sleep with your boxers on, cuz they'll send about 40 black clad boyz with all their toyz to zip tie ya and deliver ya up to the jailhouse on Trumped up charges...pardon the pun.
No answer possible, because then the enemy knows.
Not likely to get you in....You can never have enough ammo, guns or fuel..
Holeee Moleee it’s a friggin’ arsenal!!!!!!!
Knows what? The fewer people that are aware of what you got, the better.
Never trade ammo for anything as it might come back at you....
I think it was Bob Weir of Grateful Dead who sang; “Too much of anything is just enough.”
My comment was in answer to the title of the piece. How much? That is unanswerable.
Reload. It’s enjoyable and lowers the cost of ammo. Overtime make it a goal to stockpile enough ammo for each weapon, that if you fired it all, it would wear out the barrel. You’ll eventually get tired of reloading for a particular weapon, get the urge to buy a new weapon and start reloading for the new one. This is the way you know you have enough ammo.
Well it was Mae West who said “too much of a good thing ... is wonderful”

I figure I can cut down on ammo use if I put a big red cross on my doors stating “INFECTED - QUARUNTINED”.
If they go through that, I figure they are serious so that cuts down on the guess work.
