Baltimore sees more than 50 homicides so far in 2020, activists say city 'was never like this'

Only into the third month of the new year and more than 50 people have been killed in the Baltimore city area.

The Baltimore Police Department announced Sunday that 19-year-old Singleton Blake-Duppins was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 26-year-old man on Friday, one of four shootings in Charm City Friday night that left two men dead and four injured.

At least 52 homicides were been reported throughout the city as of March 2, according to a tally by The Baltimore Sun. The major northeastern city in Maryland of more than 600,000 people is one of the most dangerous in America, according to the FBI.

The city’s string of killings so far in 2020 has Baltimore already on track to surpass 300 homicides for yet another yet, according to FOX45.

“This city was never like this, even when it was at its worst,” activist Tyree Moorehead told FOX45 on Sunday. “That’s scary because there’s people whose family members haven’t been shot yet that have a bullet with their name on it and don’t even know it.” …

Baltimore is a Democrat schiffhole. It’s been bad for 50 years, just a tad bit more violent lately. You have to consider that they are only killing their own, with occasional collateral damage.

In June at an anti-gun violence rally, the mayor advocated organized fights as a means to solve disputes without using weapons.

Oh, good. Can't say they lack innovative leadership. I mean, organized fights to address the violence issue - who would have thought of that?

There are no doubt reasons why the federal government has found it necessary to do what is essentially municipal policing, and the city owns them all in the form of anti-police activism and pure corruption. It's hard to imagine that the $800,000 slipped into the pocket of Mayor Catherine Pugh for her Healthy Holly books couldn't have funded more effective policing, but the city had its priorities. If certain community activists are now howling they might want to take a glance in the mirror for at least part of the problem.

“They clearly require further gun control legislation and perhaps some advanced diversity training. Throw in sanctuary status, more welfare and they’d be well on their way...”

Pretty normal. When I lived in the Baltimore County, the city had about 1 death per day. That’s actually running a little light. Slow start to the year for the city.

Are all the victims and dead folks black? I thought surely I would hear the BLM advocates screaming their heads off about black lives mattering with all that slaughter going on. Or do black lives only matter when power and money can be gained by demonstrations and riots, i.e. when a white person pulls the trigger?

Poor Baltimore. More than ever, they need strong decisive leadership from the mayor they elected.

Oh wait. Scratch that. That mayor is in jail.

They had a mayor that would “just give them room to riot”. Maybe they could get that one back.

In addition to a larger population, the ferals in Chicago have improved their aim. They are killing 19% of those shot versus the 16% -17% of prior years.

While these numbers of people are murdered in Democrat run cities, the Democrats are attacking President Trump over the people who may die as a result of the corona virus.
