BOCA CHICA An explosion at the SpaceX site in Boca Chica occurred Friday night while testing its Starship SN1. It was posted by LabPadre. It reportedly happened around 10 p.m. According to Valerie Bates, marketing director for the City of Port Isabel, says it was an accidental cryogenic explosion. No injuries were reported and no chemicals were released. Anyone who may have been affected by the explosion is asked to call 956-943-2727.
I’m hoping it’s a temporary set back. They seem to be making them fast, maybe too fast.
Ruh-roh. I think Elon might want to rethink this whole retro stainless steel rocket concept. It keeps blowing up and looks like something I riveted together in my garage. The rest of his stuff looks pretty viable, though.
Chica Boom, Chica Boom! Boom! Boom!
Cracked windows or spooked cattle.
POW! Too the moon Alice. Too the moon!
Don’t you just love it?
an accidental cryogenic explosion?
Well, that’s the end of Ted Williams!
Last night I had a crazy dream
‘Bout a chick in a black bikini
Ah, she looked so good, she couldn’t be real
She must be a magic genie!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

Not Teddy Ballgame!
I actually really support SpaceX and want humans to explore the solar system cheaply. Not sure why you wouldn’t want that.
Thanks for the heads up Monty. I saw a video of SN1 moving to it’s test spot yesterday and it just looked like a bare bones test tank. They’ll get it right.

I think the future of space exploration involves probes not humans.
I hope so, sooner or later the methods and formulas should come together. This is bleeding edge stuff as we know. Just kinda said SN1 was gone so fast.
It will hopefully be a mix. I prefer Trump’s moon base and Elon’s Mars base than just more probes.
Stainless steel is stronger and more durable than aluminum. As a choice of material, it is better suited to repair and repeated use.
Can anyone confirm that an actual ROCKET, e.g., standing on a launch pad, was destroyed? Or was this rather some minor explosion involving some containers of liquid oxygen or some-such?
Regards,
