Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk told Breitbart News that conservatives shouldnt disregard a socialist opponent to President Donald Trump, as it is difficult to run against the false promise of free stuff. Kirk spoke to host Matthew Boyle at the 2020 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland during an interview on SiriusXMs Breitbart News Daily.
Do not discount a socialist running for the President of the United States. It is hard to run against free,' warned Kirk of Sen. Sanders chances of winning the 2020 presidential election against President Trump.
And by the way, President Trump has said this, that its hard to run against someone whos willing to promise stuff that is not your own and willing to cancel student loan debt thats a difficult thing to run up against, he added.

Coronavirus is Free.
Is it Socialist?
Socialst “free” isn’t actually free.
No way gettin’ round that one.
Hard to run against and beat free stuff from “Santa Socialist”.
We also shouldn’t disregard the numerous immigrants entering our country looking for free stuff. Something Charlie is paid to disregard.
Socialst free isnt actually free.
No way gettin round that one.
Yep. I’d rather face Commie Burnie than Biden or Bloomberg. Biden is a milquetoast candidate who would have top cover from Fake News. Bloomberg would be packaged by Fake News as the NY billionaire without the rudeness.
I was thinking basically the same thing, hard to run against Santa Claus.
America disagrees. The past 50 years have shown us that it’s much harder to run against the free traitors in both political parties for 50 years, especially with them sucking on foreign commie dictators for support all along.
“And by the way, President Trump has said this, that its hard to run against someone whos willing to promise stuff that is not your own and willing to cancel student loan debt thats a difficult thing to run up against, he added.”
Not hard at all. Any Republican that can’t argue against socialism has no business being in politics.
The first thing that has to be done is to put it in terms individuals and families can understand. Tell them how much it will cost them in dollars and cents for going with socialism vs Trump/capitalism. These “free” programs will cost average Americans tens of thousands of dollars per year in additional taxes. You could confiscate the rich’s money and it wouldn’t be enough. They will have to significantly tax the middle class.
I like Charlie Kirk. Exactly, to what are you referring?
Meaningless “warning”35% of this country can vote for Comrade Bernie and that will still get him an ass kicking like no one has ever seen before. But the real number of socialists is probably about 20% given the HUGE enthusiasm gap between Republicans and Communists. So lets be about the job at hand and skip the fake worry okay?
Tell your college age or near college age kids this: When your professor advocates for “free tuition”, ask them if they are going to teach for free. If not, who is going to pay them.
President Trump can off the ultimate free:
FREEDOM
It is real easy to explain the evils of socialism here on the Free Republic. Its a much smarter and involved audience here.
However, the typical voter is apathetic and gets their news from CBS/NBC/ABC. Their eyes glaze over when you discuss big spending numbers. They don't realize the difference between a $5 trillion program and a $5 billion program.
They also think that the money will come from someone else, like really rich people
I know Trump can beat any of them. But Sanders represents a special challenge.
The MSM is going to back whoever runs against Trump. So Trump is going to need some clever advertising to illustrate how silly the Sanders spend-a-thon looks like. Something like this:
Yep. See tagline.
That reminds me of the old saying from the UK about their National Health plan, “if you think your health insurance is expensive now just wait until its free”
yeah :)

I would disagree with you.
Individuals and families do understand this well. Many understand it and embrace it. I'm from Mississippi, the welfare capital of the universe. A good half our population knows very well that socialism costs average americans tens of thousands of dollars a year, they don't care. It doesn't cost themselves anything, that's all they care about. You have to look at it from their personal point of view absent the thoughts of higher purpose and doing what's right for the country. All a good portion of the populace knows is that if they don't work and crank out babies at a cyclic rate then they don't have to pay any taxes and they get a lot of someone else's money from the government. They're OK with that and perfectly willing to vote for a socialist if he promises more of it. They JUST DON'T CARE what it costs anyone else or if it destroys the moral fabric of the country, all they care about is that they've got theirs.
You can explain it to them until you're blue in the face and it won't change their thought process, they have a fundamentally different outlook on life and different value system.
You have to explain it in terms of how much THEY will pay. Many may think someone else will pay for this stuff and the dems have reinforced that idea.
Move it from an academic discussion to real dollars and cents.
There is a huge swath out there that don’t think that much about politics. Certainly what little they’ve heard is propaganda. So I don’t think they understand it at all.
I see what you're saying but there's a large swath of people that don't pay anything, or pay very little.
The average welfare mother in my state pays almost nothing in taxes. The only real taxes they pay are sales taxes and they don't pay that on food because food stamps are tax exempt. You can't make the argument that socialism will cost them more, it won't for them.
