Clint Eastwood is breaking his silence over the 2020 presidential hopeful he believes is best fit for office.

The 89-year-old discussed the #MeToo movement, career highlights and dished on his political views in a revealing interview with the Wall Street Journal, and it turns out Mike Bloomberg has the actor's support.

"The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there," Eastwood told the outlet.

I thought he was libertarian and that's about as far away from Bloomberg as Bernie is in the other direction.

He lives in California. Maybe he just wants to get invited to parties and doesn't want his car vandalized.

But, he also did the empty chair speech on Obama. I guess he’s good with Bloomberg being Obama’s candidate.

He might be losing it. Eastwood claims to be a libertarian, but Doomburg is nowhere near a small government/freedom type. Of course I had several libertarian friends who thought 0 was great too.

As for the domestic political scene, Mr. Eastwood seems disheartened. “The politics has gotten so ornery,” he says, hunching his shoulders in resignation. He approves of “certain things that Trump’s done” but wishes the president would act “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names. I would personally like for him to not bring himself to that level.” As he drives me back to my hotel, he expresses an affinity for another former mayor: “The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.”

How did the last genteel Republican candidates do? Romney? McCain? And the last years of the Bush 43 administration were a disaster, mostly because of 43's genteel-ness.

I can't see Eastwood supporting Bernie in November. Maybe the Libertarian.

You are correct and at first I was concerned that Trump wasn’t “genteel” enough in his presentation. It didn’t personally bother me but I thought the GOPers wouldn’t take to him and would gravitate towards the JEBby types.

Overall, I’m glad I was wrong about it and that Trump speaks his mind and plays mind games with the bad guys. I freaking love it and I think Americans love it as well!!!

Eastwood supported Arnold for California governor - a disaster - and is his very good buddy. He won't even say if he voted for Trump in 2016. He is FOR gun control and gay marriage. He is also not a Republican.

For some reason he has this reputation of being super conservative. People must be thinking of Dirty Harry.

I think you’re 100% correct.
DH was either just a movie personna, or Clint’s gotten ‘too ripe’.
RIP, Dirty Harry...

Not that being “Genteel” matters in Making America Great Again, but seriously is Bloomberg even close to being genteel?

“”The 89-year-old discussed the #MeToo movement,””

That in itself is funny. Guess he’s never been caught up in that movement but he doesn’t have a clean slate by any means..consensual or not! I’m not sure but he probably holds the record in Hollywood for the number of children born to wives and non wives. You can count them but I think he had three marriages and 7 children - 2 when he was married and 5 unmarried. Makes me dizzy to figure it out.

If he’s throwing his support to Bloomberg, it means we’re all going to have to rethink where we stand on our opinions of everyone. We’ve already seen the disappointment we’re faced with from our elected officials and ineffective if not corrupt federal law enforcement..is there no one to trust any longer? Probably not except we’ll stick with the president, Clint! For sure we all like your movies but I treat this as a betrayal of our president and country. For what? Don’t think I want to contribute to your income!

“”Eastwood has had numerous casual and serious relationships of varying length and intensity over his life, many of which overlapped. Between proposing to and marrying Maggie Johnson in 1953, he had an affair that allegedly resulted in a child who was given up for adoption.[288]:19 He continued having affairs while married to Johnson, including a 14-year-long relationship with actress and stunt woman Roxanne Tunis that produced a daughter, Kimber, in 1964.[289][290] Johnson reportedly tolerated the open marriage with Eastwood, and they had two children, Kyle (born in 1968) and Alison (born in 1972). Johnson and Eastwood eventually divorced. In 1975, actress Sondra Locke began living with Eastwood. She took the relationship seriously and was distraught when she discovered much later that Eastwood continued to have sexual relationships with other women. During that time, Eastwood had two children, Scott (born 1986) and Kathryn (born 1988) with Jacelyn Reeves, a flight attendant.[291] When Locke and Eastwood separated in 1989, Locke filed a palimony lawsuit.[36] In the 1990s, Clint had a relationship with actress Frances Fisher that produced a daughter, Francesca (born 1993).[292] Eastwood was married for the second time to news anchor Dina Ruiz in 1996, who gave birth to their daughter Morgan that same year. Ruiz and Eastwood’s marriage lasted until 2013.[293] He has been seen with other women since then.””

If you read the WSJ article it’s the very last sentence of the article (I mean the very last sentence) and he just doesn’t like Trumps tweets. Other than that he praised him on policy.

Yes, too bad Trump isn’t as “genteel” as Bloomie.

There have been nearly 40 sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits filed against Bloomberg.

“fat broads”

“horse faced lesbians”

“Kill it”

“Why didn’t they ask you to be in the picture? I guess they saw your face” and “What, is the guy dumb and blind? What the hell is he marrying you for?”

“If women wanted to be appreciated for their brains, they’d go to the library instead of to Bloomingdales” and “I know for a fact that any self-respecting woman who walks past a construction site and doesn’t get a whistle will turn around and walk past again and again until she does get one.”

“All of you girls line up to give him [oral sex] as a wedding present.”

“Ninety-five percent of murders — murderers and murder victims fit one M.O. You can just take a description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all the cops,”

“I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little,”

As much as I like Clint for his contributions to the world of entertainment, I’m not going to lose a minute of sleep worrying about whatever he thinks of anything.

Many people I know feel the same way as Clint. This is why Trump’s approval ratings are mediocre considering his many accomplishments.k
