Former Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland said Friday that the FBI -- under the purview of the Mueller investigation -- tried to set up her up in a "perjury trap."
Appearing on "Fox & Friends" with host Brian Kilmeade, McFarland -- who served under former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn -- explained that her life "went to hell" at the beginning of the Russia probe because investigators were convinced she was President Trump's to the Russians.
"The FBI showed up at my house unannounced. I was all by myself. They come in and I said, 'Do I need a lawyer for anything? I have never met with any Russians. I have never dealt with any Russians,'" she explained.
The agents said that while they couldn't tell her not to get a lawyer, they just wanted a "little bit of information" to help them with the investigation.
"So, I naively went along with it. The whole time they were setting me up for a perjury trap," she told Kilmeade. "Because Brian, they seized all of my files, my documents, text messages, cell phones from the period I was in government...They had control of them. They wouldn't let me have control of them."
However, the search turned out to be fruitless for all parties involved.
"They thought they could pressure me to say, 'Well, I lied in one of my early talks with you guys when I didn't have access to my information,'" she mused.
McFarland added that she was questioned about a 90-minute period spent in the president's Mar-a-Lago Club in which she didn't have any recorded correspondence or conversation in her phone records. That's when, McFarland said, they asked her whether that was the time she met with Trump to get marching orders.

Imagine all the same facts of the whole “Russia hoax” only Bush II was the outgoing Pres, Obama was incoming. All the MSN screaming 24 hours that this was a fascist, antiDemocratic, authoritarian plot to bring down an anti-establishment candidate. Everyone from Executive branch, Fbi, etc would be on trial and gotten maximum term (think Watergate). Movies and books written about it.
But nooo,,,, in real life we get the VICTIMs being subject to years of investigation and zero done to the traitorous perpertrators.
The FBI is really the American Gestapo. The only difference is The Gestapo were totally loyal to Hitler while The FBI is 100% devoted to tying to overthrow the duly elected president of The United States, Donald Trump

Meanwhile Hannity keeps saying that 99% of the FBI guys are good people.
yeah, where are the “really good ones” working for the FBI... who were the ones raiding homes at 6 am?
Move some critical national security functions to the Fed Marshalls, and give every fbi agent that wants to move to marshalls a complete anal exam, complete with lie detectors and water boarding for any that fail.
Shut the doj down.
Pick several hundred clean doj people, start with lie detectors and water boarding, and keep the ones that survive.
Build out from there, slowly, and remind them, they work for us.
Re-think the need for all of the cloak and dagger services and get rid of 75% of all of the desk jockeys.
When they re-do the fbi, eliminate any agent that has ever served on the 7th floor. Ya might lose a few good ones...too bad, life's tough.

The government before Trump, has been out of control for so long.. corrupted for so long... it’s become a way of life and they think it’s legal and normal... to harass and put the scare in people...

The way you present this has to be subtle, as in, "I want to talk to you, but I need to discuss this with my attorney."
Don't outright refuse, or in any way give them a legal excuse to get tough with you. Always keep it respectful.
And NEVER talk to the FBI without an attorney WITH A RECORDING DEVICE.
And before you take my advice, run it past your attorney.
That’s one I’ve never been able to figure out. He picks a great VP, great SCOTUS nominees, but many of the others doesn’t seem well thought out.
I don’t remember the last time I saw any “really good guy” from the FBI. The good ones have been spectacularly successful at hiding any goodness they might have.
I don’t even know why socialists or communists are allowed to run for office... let alone the Presidency!! didn’t used to be.... but that’s the nose in the tent... long time ago..and today no one objects.
Flynn talked with them casually as well. The agents must have laughed at how easy it was.
No sweat, Barr’s on it.
