KT McFarland: FBI tried to set me up for 'perjury trap' in Trump-Russia probe
Fox News ^ | February 21, 2020 | By Julia Musto

Former Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland said Friday that the FBI -- under the purview of the Mueller investigation -- tried to set up her up in a "perjury trap."

Appearing on "Fox & Friends" with host Brian Kilmeade, McFarland -- who served under former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn -- explained that her life "went to hell" at the beginning of the Russia probe because investigators were convinced she was President Trump's to the Russians.

"The FBI showed up at my house unannounced. I was all by myself. They come in and I said, 'Do I need a lawyer for anything? I have never met with any Russians. I have never dealt with any Russians,'" she explained.

The agents said that while they couldn't tell her not to get a lawyer, they just wanted a "little bit of information" to help them with the investigation.

"So, I naively went along with it. The whole time they were setting me up for a perjury trap," she told Kilmeade. "Because Brian, they seized all of my files, my documents, text messages, cell phones from the period I was in government...They had control of them. They wouldn't let me have control of them."

However, the search turned out to be fruitless for all parties involved.

"They thought they could pressure me to say, 'Well, I lied in one of my early talks with you guys when I didn't have access to my information,'" she mused.

McFarland added that she was questioned about a 90-minute period spent in the president's Mar-a-Lago Club in which she didn't have any recorded correspondence or conversation in her phone records. That's when, McFarland said, they asked her whether that was the time she met with Trump to get marching orders.

My apologies, I thought that I had read that previously.
I may have read an earlier exchange on the topic and didn’t remember it correctly.

I see. It's probably an understandable mistake, as I've done some business north of the border and frequently travel there. :-)

Your credibility remains intact, Lurkin. LOL.

Cheers!

JUNE 2013 WED : (FUTURE TRUMP DPTY NAT’L SEC ADVISOR K.T.MCFARLAND SAYS OBAMA PROMOTED SUSAN RICE TO NAT’L SECURITY DIRECTOR IN ORDER TO INVOKE EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE IF RICE IS CALLED TO TESTIFY ON BENGHAZI) On Wednesday, Kathleen Troia “K.T.” McFarland, a former national security aide to Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, claimed that United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice is being promoted to National Security Advisor in order to shield her from congressional scrutiny over her role in the response to the Benghazi attacks.
“I figure that was the payback for Benghazi,” McFarland said of Rice’s promotion to NSA on Wednesday. “The fact that she carried the administration’s water – carried it very badly, I might say – but carried it.”
[...]
McFarland agreed. She said that Rice, “conveniently,” no longer has to testify before Congress relating to what she knew about Benghazi and can invoke executive privilege if asked to testify.
In a post on Fox News.com, McFarland repeated her theory. “By appointing Rice to NSA job means she can invoke executive privilege and doesn’t have to testify on Capitol Hill,” she wrote. ——— Fox Analyst: Obama Elevated Susan Rice To Position Where She ‘Doesn’t Have To Testify’ On Benghazi, Mediaite, Wednesday June 5, 2013 Posted on 6/5/2013, 11:44:53 PM by Bigtigermike

‘The entire FBI and DOJ needs to be closed down and rebuilt from scratch.’

Add CIA to that list as well!

Please Donald...guess I understand if you are waiting til (hopefully) winning a second term (slight risk - cheating)!

But when you do, ask for letters of resignation from all AGs and ambassadors (you can then keep those you want to), close down the FBI, DOJ, and CIA! Rebuild DOJ and FBI with entirely new personnel at maybe 1/3 the size!

Close down the dept of ed and create a new group similar to what Kennedy did with creation of the Peace Corps - call it ‘Save our Youth Corp’ mission to remove all elements of Indoctrination from colleges and HS throughout our country!

They’re doing so to protect Iran, not because Trump is Trump. They’d do it no matter who had won the election, if the winner opposed the Iran deal.

We need a list of these FBI agent’s names. After they are arrested we need their colleagues questioned as to why they did not file a report with the IG.

You still think the FBI isn't just an organization of robots that follow orders without question? If orderd to they will set you up to go to jail for life knowing you committed no crime and all they will think is "I'm not going to say anything, don't want to jeopardize my juicy pension." and that's that.

The Alphabet Agencies are crime syndicates with little if any oversight. I see nothing that disproves this point. The professional politicians and media play the roll of theater clowns, keeping the public off the trail. Just my observation. Truth be damned.

KT. Name “names” of the FBI agents. Then Ask the Sen. Judiciary Committee to backtrack them to their superiors, etc. and find out who gave them orders to “entrap” her. Then keep asking for names up the food chain and see who from the Deep State pops up.

Agents who refuse to testify should be fired on the spot, their weapons and security clearances taken away forever, and subject them to a grand jury re national security breaches and political interference as guiding them in their jobs.

The FBI setting perjury traps is obviously the reference democrats use when referring to”The Framers”.

If they say FBI, I record the conversation and have an attorney present. The FBI is the dirtiest of the dirty cops.

Pisses me off when he says this. Where are the 99% of these good guys when all this dirty crap was going down? Where are the 99% of these good agents who filed whistle blower complaints about abuse of power and criminal behavior?

These 99% remind me of the guards at the Nuremberg Trials after WWII. They bleated, I was just following orders and doing my job. That excuse didn’t work then and it shouldn’t work now.

I could not convict ANYONE on evidence or testimony from any FBI agent at this point. Their behavior has planted a reasonable doubt in my mind. If they will lie repeatedly to a FISA court judge, why wouldn’t they lie to a federal jury in Lexington KY, or Topeka KS? If I were a defense attorney I would bring these lies into every trial I possibly could with the DOJ/FBI.

I would want a lawyer and a recorder. I remember a deposition years ago when I know I didn’t say exactly what was on the transcript.

yeah the world is full of people who have been taught.. or learned.. to lie and to be as underhanded as they can be. A few farmers could be good judges of what is owed to people who want to run wild and be corrupt...

My wife worked with a CPA who told her about his nephews adventures with the sainted FBI a few years back. This guys nephew had graduated medical school and was invited to join a practice with several doctors and locations which he thought was great. He was on the bottom of the pecking order but eager to show he was a good doctor and a good hire.

After a while he noticed some of the notes and billing he was doing wasn’t being turned in for Medicare/Medicaid as he had done them which he thought was strange, charges were being added for things he didn’t do. He then noted that in many cases the doctors in his group were charging for lots of things they hadn’t performed, fraud was his quick conclusion. So being a conscientious guy he took his original notes/billing and those submitted to the FBI.

The DOJ/FBI thanked him profusely, good job, you did the right thing and then asked for copies of the other doctors notes to which he said hey, I did the right thing here, all you have to do is get a warrant and walking in and seize that evidence and you have a strong case, I intend to tender my resignation and find employment elsewhere I am not working for these crooks.

To which the sainted DOJ/FBI said you WILL retrieve what we asked for or we will do the raid and prosecute you along with the others. This guy was like WTH, you people are dirty as the mafia, I do the right thing and you pull this crap. Do it or else was the response. So for two years he gave them a supply of information and finally they wanted something else and I forget what it was but the kid said not no, but hell no I won’t do it. Again the sainted DOJ/FBI threatened the kid and he finally said, I have copies of everything I have given you, day one, in a secured location which will be released if anything happens to me, I am not being your bitch anymore and you sleaze bastards can F off! He quite the job and went to another state to work and hates the DOJ/FBI the way God hates sin.

I have always given her more credit than this. Asking if she NEEDS a lawyer? That is ridiculous. I’ve seen her on TV just a couple of times in the past year and she no longer wears the Navy pin she wore that I think was honoring her daughter’s service??

I can’t believe she fell for any of this!

“”I am surprised KT went along with an FBI interview without a lawyer. She’s been around DC long enough to know better.””

You are absolutely correct. I posted my reply before seeing yours but I can’t believe she didn’t order them out of her house without the time of day. Unreal!

Something like that should have made big news but you know no one DARES to buck the system and that’s just not right. How many of us would even have an attorney we could call in case of something like this and what happened to KT? I’m sure the storm troopers aren’t going to be sitting around while we google an attorney in the area...What then?

I don’t know how anyone can avoid admitting we’ve lived all these years having the wool pulled over our eyes about the good guys! A different world right in front of our eyes!
