Who won the Democratic debate in Las Vegas?

LAS VEGAS -- Mike Bloomberg became a piñata, and Elizabeth Warren resurrected her feisty side.

The Democratic candidates formed a circular firing squad Wednesday night, with arrows flying in all directions and fights breaking out among a seemingly infinite permutation of candidates on matters from health care policy to lewd comments about women.

Mike Bloomberg

It was the billionaire entrepreneur's first time on the debate stage, and his rivals made the most of it. He was slammed on everything from his record on stop-and-frisk to the millions he's sinking into his campaign. Bloomberg kept his composure, standing stone-faced, barely smiling, but he seemed unprepared for an entirely predictable series of attacks.

Bernie Sanders

Sanders entered the debate as the front-runner for the nomination - in Nevada and nationally - and nothing in the debate knocked him off his stride.

Elizabeth Warren

Warren, a senator from Massachusetts, dispensed with the milquetoast unifier persona that served her poorly through Iowa and New Hampshire and revived the fiery progressive warrior more reflective of her authentic self.

Joe Biden

The former vice president, bleeding support nationally after poor showings in Iowa and New Hampshire, sought to correct course with a performance that was at times lively.

Pete Buttigieg

Buttigieg, facing a new test in a more diverse state after strong showings in Iowa and New Hampshire, urged Americans not to let Sanders and Bloomberg become the only two choices, saying the senator wants to "burn this party down" and the billionaire wants to "buy this party out."

Amy Klobuchar

Klobuchar, a senator from Minnesota, impressed at the New Hampshire debate and finished a better-than-expected third in the primary.

I watched the whole thing. It was like sitting in a coffee shop at the bottom of an icy hill, watching car after car slide thru the interection and crash into oncoming traffic.

The Big losers were the SJW’s that thought they were getting $2,500.00/ month jobs from Bloomberg until November.

I’m not even sure if Bloomberg will be running after Super Tuesday on March 3, 2020.

Bloomberg answered this in the best line of the night: ‘I can’t inagine a better way to get Trump re-elected than watching this debate.’

You quit too early. The comedy got better and better as the night went on.

The Democratic candidates formed a circular firing squad Wednesday night

Nobody survived and a few were hit mortally...Amy, Biden wee the worst, Pete will be out soon. Only Liz may survive the massacre for a few more weeks with Bernie and Bloomie.

I thought Amy Klobuchar had a terrible night. It probably shut the coffin on any last gasp attempts as an underdog. Maybe even killed her VP hopes.

No doubt. An I think Biden struggling for words and sentences was 2nd worst.

I lasted 12 minutes - anyone else stay around longer than that?

You lasted 12 minutes longer than I did. I didn't have to watch to know what a clown-show it was going to be and that they were all going to go after mini-Mike.

In hindsight I wish I'd have watched it just for that. Oh well. Maybe next time ... NOT.

Must better just to monitor comments on FR.

Saves me from having to watch.

"I watched the whole thing."

Great analogy. But I was afraid it would be like the "Shining" and I wouldn't be able to get to sleep afterwards....

LOL! I did see a few of the comments as the debate was happening. I had the TV off (normal state here...) and was listening to some music while reading on-line.

Someone posted a picture of mini-Mike standing on a box behind the podium which cracked me up. Wish I'd have saved it. Tried looking for that post again and couldn't find it. Oh well.

The sad thing is that we expect that from Joe. A lot of people were giving him a net positive review because he did not soil his depends, get angry at a squirrel in his yard, or scream authentic frontier gibberish.

So how is he supposed to deal with Trump's unpredictable, ambush-style asymmetrical warfare tactics?

There was some sort of noisy disruption near the end of the debate last night.

Anyone know what exactly that was???

NBC didn’t tell us viewers anything.
