$$$ go to more White Collar Welfare for gov’t employees.
first (current) phase: legit social work orgs
future phases: grifters in the guise of legit social work orgs
The problem is not homelessness. It’s the legalization of drug addiction and vagrancy. The money is going to subsidize the behavior street people and the support organizations who make a profit exploiting them. Liberals call this compassion.
a lot of $$$ to be made off the homeless...
third-party NGOs and gov’t contracts, building developers, lawyers are all making big $$$
the incentives are flipped... the more homeless, the more gov’t $$$ is made available with no accountability from citizens
if this is not addressed, the homeless will just only grow
At least some of it goes to creating more homeless.
Most of it is siphoned off by politicians and their favored contractors.
I'll hazard a guess and say the same place foreign aid is going ala Ukraine.
When you have a state that pushes welfare, protects illegals with sanctuary, allows the spending of funds for the homeless like medical care, food and protection from being responsible for violent crimes, and trying to open the door at the southern border to stack the deck of voting, legal or not, you are going to have to scramble to make it work. And borrowing from Peter to pay Paul has been the liberal tactic for well over 50 years. And to them, the end justifies the means.

Large portions of taxpayers money slated for social relief programs as well as other pools of special program monies are most likely being looted by the democrats in Sacramento who control the state. Unfortunately thats the reality of the criminal scams of todays politicians all across this country.
In economics whatever you are willing to pay for is going to increase. That is why we have so many fatherless families, because the Government (us!) pays them to do so.
Lets see. First create a sanctuary city enticing misfit illegal aliens and drug cartels. Encourage drug abuse and lawlessness, allow mayors and governors to violate federal immigration laws, then send money to the city to encourage more of the same bad behavior.
Nice of us to bail out CA.

True story. I was in a meeting with a woman who worked for the Salt Lake United Way. She called the meeting to discuss the rising numbers of students who aren’t testing at grade level and how the education system can help. Her entire project was to MONITOR the situation. She actually admitted that they don’t do any “interventions” or develop programs to help. They spend 80% of their funding on administration expenses to monitor and report. I suspect a lot of groups claiming to “work with the homeless” fall into similar types of scams. The person who said if you can’t find a solution, there’s significant money to be made in prolonging the problem was correct.
