NASCAR named Trump the grand marshal of the Daytona500, marking the first time a sitting president has held the honor. Trump AND THe FIRST LADY is planning to take a lap around the track prior to the NASCAR event in the presidential limousine known as The Beast
The U.S. Secret Service will have more than 500 agents on site at the Daytona500 according to people briefed on the security plan, one of the largest presences by the Secret Service in all of American history.

The cars are much safer than they use to be but that was a bad crash.
Fox has ended coverage and gone to regular broadcasting.
I guess I’ll have to wait to find out if Ryan Newman is OK...

Usually the roll cage can protect. Going back to when Dale died his crash didn’t look that awful in comparison.

Not the worst I have seen, but definitely the worst I have seen since the Car of Tomorrow. I'm not a huge fan, but I watch fairly regularly (mostly in conjunction with a Sunday nap).
Just guessing they won’t announce anything till his wife gets to hospital. My guess (from news release earlier this week) is she isn’t in Daytona
I hate to talk about it but he was hit upside down right on his window, at speed.
True but usually with the roll cage that is survivable. I just groaned when the other car hit though.
