If a dancer is extraordinary at her job then her earning ought to reflect that as well.
A union job means everyone gets paid the same and there is no reason to excel as ambition is severed by the efforts of the lowest producer.

There are some girls who blow their money stupidly. I knew a young topless dancer in Austin who paid her way through UT with a Masters in Architecture. Another attractive Asian woman bought duplexes with her earnings. After ~10 years she owned nearly a dozen duplex units and could retire. She knew her looks wouldn’t last forever.
Maybe not all girls can or will do this; but it happens

As I understand it, and I haven’t been to many of these types of clubs (mostly at bachelor party events), many of these clubs operate using independent contractor contracts. The dancers are not employees. They pay to dance. They keep all their tips.
I’m surprised the franchise tax board hasn’t cracked down on them yet.
OS There was a club I went to a few times, no nudity at all, more of a burlesque type place. Wife of a friend danced there as part of a troupe. Was artistic, and no bare chests or bottomless dancing. Was entertaining. People had fun.
And I’m a bit curious. When I was in my 20’s - decades ago - we tipped by placing a couple $1 bill on the platform. Now a couple of decades later, do people still only give $1 bills? With inflation it seems people should make it rain a little more, no?
