Federal prosecutors have declined to charge former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, closing an investigation into whether he lied to federal officials about his involvement in a news media disclosure, McCabes legal team said Friday.
The decision resolves a criminal investigation that spanned more than a year and began with a referral from the Justice Departments inspector general, which said McCabe repeatedly lied about having authorized a subordinate to share information with a newspaper reporter for a 2016 article about an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
McCabes lawyers said in a statement they were told in a phone call and letter that the case is closed and no charges will be brought against him based on the facts.
McCabe, a frequent target of attacks from President Donald Trump, has denied that he intentionally misled anyone. He has said his 2018 firing for what the Justice Department called lack of candor was politically motivated. He sued the Justice Department in August, saying officials had used the inspector generals conclusions as a pretext to rid the FBI of leaders Trump perceived as biased against him.
In a letter on Friday, prosecutors told McCabes lawyers that they decided not to pursue criminal charges against your client after careful consideration.
Based on the totality of the circumstances and all of the information known to the government at this time, we consider the matter closed, said the letter, signed by the chief of the U.S. attorneys offices public corruption unit.
The decision was revealed at the week of startling tensions between Trump and the Justice Department over the treatment of one of the Republican presidents longtime allies and confidants, Roger Stone.

Surprise,surprise,surprise!
This swamp and cabal isn’t going down easy by any means...
Tonight I heard one of Hannitys guests say there are 115,000 people working in the DOJ! Im still trying to wrap my head around that.
I think we need to accept the fact that although hes the boss on paper, he probably feels more like a soldier behind enemy lines.
115,000 people and youre the new boss, come to clean house. It would literally take years just to go around and shake everyones hand, much less figure out who needs firing and fire them.
I think President Trump will need every bit of his eight years to make a dent in the deep state.
You may have already seen this regarding McCabe, but check this out —

Great little MAGA hat guy! Or are we looking at a gal...?

Is this true?
Sad this sack of criminal crap gets to walk ........ doom on him and his kind.
Just think how the last 3 years would have gone had Trump appointed a competent loyalist as AG in January 2017, with a mandate to completely clear out all Obama loyalists and swamp rats from the DOJ, FBI, CIA and NSC. If he is able to overcome the media and Democrat fraud and win in November, his priority has to be to drain the 90% of the Swamp that is still untouched. And this includes the clearly biased group of prosecuting attorneys that appear to be a law unto themselves.
Yea just think! McCabe would have been in Jail, As would Comey and Strzok, Page, Clapper, Brennan Hillary Obama, and President Trump would not have been impeached!
“Tonight I heard one of Hannitys guests say there are 115,000 people working in the DOJ! “
And many of them live and vote in Virginia. Getting rid of them will help in two ways: 1)ease the corruption in DOJ, and 2) remove leftist voters from Virginia.
Does this mean that Barr is not doing what Trump wants, or that Trump also talks a good game???
Was there a quid pro quo in this case?
Wow.
Did you see this comment from another lawyer on the link?
In our 55+ years in DC @Barnes_Law, there's one axiom we hold to. If a Federal investigation stalls, is deflected, or slow-rolled...it's due to the target having MORE dirty laundry than the government wants exposed, or they cut a deal. EVERY time.
May Bagpipes Barr reap what he sows.
There's always a chance, of course.
But I believe that Hannity's role is that of hyper-active cheerleader, nothing more.
I cannot name one "Bombshell!" or "Tick-Tock!" blowhard promise of "Justice coming soon!" that he has been spewing in the last 3 years that came true.
My wife and I were lamenting the same thing last evening.
We did what we felt we could do, we prayed for the President and his family.
As soon as this guy’s wife received all that cash from McAuliffe and Hillary’s friends for her “campaign”, he knew he was on the inside and immune.
Yes, we all want the same thing caww - justice for the coup plotters, thieves, and D.C. criminals.
A lot of hope poured into Durham.
While I would love to pour my hope on yet another leaky vessel longtime DOJ prosecutor, I simply won't.
McCabe was the small fish. The chum. Even if Durham were to indict Comey and Brennan (larger fish), I believe he will never, ever indict the head players in the coup: Obama, Hillary, Soros.
Especially not with Barr in charge of DOJ. No way.
And even IF Comey, Strzok, Page, and Brennan were charged with something, and Hillary, Hussein, and Palpatine Soros were allowed to skate, I will never accept the frying of the small fish as "justice." Ever.
Lol. 2029, right?
Yet another A$$HOLE Attorney General!
Amen.
