Looks like the Washington Post is starting to figure out your “Supply Root System”

“Everything was supposed to be back to normal by now,” said Craig Allen, president of the U.S.-China Business Council. “It’s not going to happen for a while. I think that’s starting to sink in.”

“Everything was supposed to be back to normal by now,” BASED ON WHAT??? A perfect example of Normalcy Bias.

“taiwan might be in a position to help on short notice? alternatively the same might be said for several se asian countries...”

Depends on how hard they’re hit, but even if not hit hard, they are all PUNY relative to China. We’ll be finding that out real soon!

Ugh. Praying for you Brother! I just came back from a 3 day convention with lots of interaction with the public.

Wait and see.

“However, it will work its way to us, if only to make supply of domestic sourced materials tight.”

It could certainly do that. Also, how deep does ITAR go? Does it go down to small components, like resistors, whose import wouldn’t give away national secrets? In other words, you may get hit more directly than you may be thinking.

Bioweapons aside, the Chinese would have to be crazy to not be doing such research.

There was that one paper linked to in an earlier thread: The Chinese researchers found 500 different corona viruses in local bats in ONE study, and thought they’d barely scratched the surface. Viruses have been jumping to humans, one way or another, and causing epidemics, as long as humans have existed. Another study found antibodies to some bat coronaviruses in villagers living near a cave (but no active disease in the people at that time.) Chinese slaughter and culinary customs reflect a people most of whom just came out of abject poverty (eat almost anything, “wet” markets, etc.). Add that to a huge population in a temperate zone and astonishing growth in their transportation infrastructure, and ability of many (maybe all?) coronaviruses to mutate quickly...

I am frankly surprised this didn’t happen sooner, labs or no. The Chinese gov’t and scientists are NOT stupid to research these diseases, and in doing so would be taking the lower risk (than the certainty of future epidemics).

Supplier changes can hurt you very bad. I had to evaluate a problem with a GPS assembly that was not able to accomplish a first fix after a change of suppliers of the crystal. On analysis, the replacement device was drifting more in 3 weeks than was permitted over 10 years. The supplier left some acid on the quartz slice. The previous supplier had made a product to spec and the GPS oscillator was within spec. No problem getting a first fix. The manufacturer wanted to just flash the firmware on the GPS to compensate for the drift. That would have been fruitless. The labor to swap the GPS module vs reflash was a wash. They swapped in replacement modules with in-spec crystals and remanufactured the modules with the bad crystal with "in spec" devices. A painful consequence of a supplier change, but resolved to the satisfaction of customer and manufacturer.

I've see reports of heart, lung, kidney and liver damage. Some indication of brain damage too. Even persons who "recover" have organ damage.

Would you mind terribly, posting links to such, please? Someone on another site has claimed that, too, and is getting flamed for it.

Wow. Disinfect everything. If you sneeze, break open an EmergenC packet immediately. I have learned that if you excessively bleach your hands, they will not turn whiter. Lol. They turn red and then you get some open sores. So wear gloves to limit bleaching episodes. On a side note, you can find cuts and rashes easy with bleach sprays. Just take it slow.

You want to see an UTTER waste of time and money?

https://globalbiodefense.com/2020/02/11/the-silent-threat-of-covid-19-americas-dependence-on-chinese-pharmaceuticals/

Globalists wanking themselves into a frenzy over “policy prescriptions” and “guidance” without a single thought of lining up and imprisoning the thousands of CEOs, MBAs, CFOs, and the like, who shifted all of US manufacturing and FEEDSTOCKS to China.

“Privatize the profits, socialize the losses.”
“If you’re not part of the solution, there’s good money to be made talking seriously about the problem.”

What I find bedeviling in all the photos coming out of this pandemic is the lack of gloves. I don't get it.

All made in China, so some CFO could buy a second vacation home for his third mistress with his quarterly bonus on the "savings"...
