Barr: Trump's tweets make it 'impossible for me to do my job'

Attorney General William Barr told ABC News in an interview aired Thursday that President Trump had never asked him to do anything in a criminal case but advised the president to stop tweeting about the Justice Department, saying it makes it “impossible for me to do my job.”

The remarks are a significant and rare public break by the attorney general from the president, following days of controversy surrounding the Justice Department’s decision to lessen a sentence for Trump ally Roger Stone after the president tweeted about his displeasure with the gravity of the original sentence recommendation.

“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr told ABC in the interview.

Is that his excuse for the last 12 months of corpulent sloth and bagpiping?

Well then do your job and Trump wouldn’t have to tweet to get the word out. Why are there no arrests yet? You should have been doing your job long before Trump’s tweet. How can the rats impeach a president in two months but in two years Comey, McCabe and the rest are still walking free selling books and doing tv appearances trashing Trump. People expect justice Mr. Barr.

It’s my guess...and my hope. If not, then Trump is in big trouble & alone.

In view of all that we now know about the mistrial of Roger Stone, Barr should immediately exonerate him.

Perhaps the DOJ is building its case against the Deep State judges and prosecutors and is biding its time.

As always Barr is doing the minimum required. In this case it is tossing that outragous 7-9 year sentencing guidance. That is all. The “Barr” DOJ is still recommending Stone serve many years in prison for a crime many guilty Democrats have never even been charged with.

Maybe if Barr would get off his ass and DO his job it would help.

Bingo.

He’s been in office for a year. So far, all of us waiting for justice are STILL waiting and he hasn’t been any more productive than that worthless POS Sessions who preceded him.

And now he goes and whines to the media? I’m sick of our President being stabbed in the back by these self-important, worthless “public servants” who don’t do anything except feather their own nests (on our tax dollars) and stroke their own egos.

And, hey Mr. Attorney General. There’s a little thing called “freedom of speech.” It may make your job “harder” (not that I see you doing much of a job), but that’s YOUR frigging problem, because Donald Trump has the right to speak his mind on Twitter, on TV, or anywhere else. If YOU don’t like it, quit. Given the fact you haven’t done jack-shit since you’ve been in there, Trump could pick any one of a million people off the street who could do a better job.

I think everyone is over thinking this. It is not all that unusual for a superior and his subordinate to get crosswise.

Barr made that statement, and I assume it is an honest sentiment, public to give himself cover for upcoming events.

Yes it is. It's Kabuki. Trump needs that separation.

If this is Kabuki then it's brilliant.

Barr appears to be siding with Democrats about Trump 'interfering' with Barr. This then throws Democrats off guard believing Barr is on their side

During the scheduled hearing Barr can then say, 'Yes, I believe Trumps' tweets are inappropriate but in this case his tweet did not interfere in any way'.

Democrats lose.

We'll have to wait and see.

Were he to do that, the media would be crying that he is not independent.

Democrats and Fake News are going to smear Barr regardless. He doesn’t need to undermine POTUS. Period.

Exactly. The pearl-clutchers are at it again.

Is Roger Stone a pearl clutcher, too? He’s about to go to jail for many years thanks to the “Barr” DOJ.

If Trump sees an injustice, Trump should be free to speak out about it.

Barr should have beat Trump to the punch with at least an indicator to the public that he was reviewing the sentencing recommendation after it hit the press.

Probably already has.

The four attorneys who resigned from the case to embarrass Barr is a far bigger problem for him than Trump’s tweets. There is a mutiny afoot in DOJ. The Resistance is alive and well.

Agree. When AG Barr is parroting the supremely unsupportive Graham we have a problem.

Dunno on Stone.

Either Barr is working for the President and this is a public ploy or not.

Guess we’ll find out.
