Three-and-a-half years after Donald Trump last visited the San Joaquin Valley as a candidate for President, hes headed back to the region.
Local sources told The Sun on Wednesday that Trump is expected to make the trek to the San Joaquin Valley next week for the first time since his candidacy in 2016.
The exact nature of the visit and his destination are not currently known.
The San Joaquin Valley hasnt been unfamiliar ground for Team Trump. In the past year, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue, Vice President Mike Pence, and Second Lady Karen Pence visited the area.
Perdue held a town hall meeting in Los Banos with Reps. Jim Costa (DFresno), TJ Cox (DFresno), Josh Harder (DTurlock), and Doug LaMalfa (ROroville).
The Pences visited in July for a whirlwind tour. The Vice President headlined a fundraiser at Harris Ranch, then held a rally on the USMCA trade agreement in Lemoore. Meanwhile, Karen Pence met with military families at NAS Lemoore and toured downtown Hanford.
A Trump visit would coincide with another high-profile visit from Interior Secretary David Bernhardt. Bernhardt is scheduled to headline a forum on California water with Rep. Devin Nunes (RTulare) on Tuesday.
Trump himself last visited the Valley for a fundraiser in Tulare shortly after he accepted the Republican nomination at the GOP convention in Cleveland.
The Sun has contacted The White House for comment on this visit and will update this story.
He should go to California more often. MANY people there are Trump supporters. I would LOVE to see California split their Electoral Votes for each candidate. But that only happens in Red states where the Blue Reps outnumber the Red Reps, yes?
President Trump needs to be all over California. Do not surrender it to the Commies.
Those who are so inclined, and not already doing so, please pray for the safety and good health of President Trump.
I believe only two states - Nebraska and Maine split their electoral votes, all the others have a winner take all.
Especially up here in Northern California. Or what we call The State of Jefferson.
Amen.
I have always thought President Trump should campaign in California to support GOP House candidates and narrow the gap in the presidential elections by increasing GOP turnout. A narrower loss in California should help him with the popular vote too.
Having said that, there is a limit on his time and he has to concentrate on winning the electoral vote.
Belly of the beast
Well since it’s been announced I guess it’s not a surprise anymore.
It’s not much of a surprise when it’s announced a week in advance.
I’ll be in L.A.. Shucks.
Not gonna rain on my parade.
“””””””I have always thought President Trump should campaign in California to support GOP House candidates “””””””””””
Definitely. No need to just roll over and let them take over without a fight.
So did you write the post headline or did someone else? I was pointing out the obvious. Obviously.
I think you’re missing the larger picture. The point is, he’s coming to Commiefornia. Who cares who wrote the headline? For the record, I assume it was the headline writer at CaPoliticalReview.com.
Make the opposition earn the electoral votes. It’s always bothered me that we just hand California to the Dems every four years. Maybe it’s a lost cause. Maybe not.
Announcing a surprise visit? - then it’s not a surprise. Step outside the box for a moment and look back at the humor side of the announcement.
Exactly. Can you imagine the conniption Libtards would throw if some 100,000 Trumpeteers showed up at a rally in Commiefornia?
