House Democrats who know a thing or two about winning in the most competitive parts of the country are sounding the alarm about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) potentially becoming the partys presidential nominee.
Vulnerable House Democrats are not only pessimistic about the Vermont senators chances against President Trump, they worry he could also cost Democrats the House majority in November.
I will support Bernie Sanders if he is nominated against Donald Trump; I will do so enthusiastically, Peters told The Hill on Tuesday, while adding I dont think putting a socialist on the ballot is a good strategy to defeat Donald Trump.
Freshman Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D-N.Y.), co-chair of the centrist Blue Dogs, said he wont back Sanders or Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) for president, telling The Post-Standard editorial board in Syracuse that their policies dont necessarily align with my beliefs and it would be exceedingly difficult for either candidate to win on Election Day.
Another centrist, freshman Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), said he has significant doubts that Sanders or Warren could beat Trump in swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan that will play a decisive role in the 2020 election.
And Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) warned that having Sanders at the top of the ticket would be an electoral disaster that could put the House majority at risk.
The dire warnings from moderate Democrats have become more urgent and aggressive as Sanders fought to a virtual tie with former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg in Iowa and appeared poised to win the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.
Democrats are particularly uneasy about a party standard-bearer who labels himself a democratic socialist, as Sanders does.
Sanders is about the worst candidate we can put up. He not only wont likely win the presidency

Yup, party over country or values.
“Democrats are particularly uneasy about a party standard-bearer who labels himself a democratic socialist, as Sanders does.”
Bernie Sanders is a Communist and a liar. These two things go hand in hand.
Go Bernie! I hope he gets a clear lead, and then they pull the rug out from under him. They will almost have to. If they don’t, Trump will cruise to a win against him. If they do, Trump will cruise to a win, AND the Democrats will alienate their most politically active subgroup. This year has the potential to harm the Democrat Party in a way that hasn’t happened since the 1994 mid-terms.
The Democrats went hard Left. Like, left of Stalin. That’s just a fact.
Now they see their election chances slipping away, they trot out all kinds of “centrists” who sagely advise that Bernie is a bridge too far. Perhaps a billionaire like Bloomberg would be a wiser choice?
Make no mistake: They are still hard Left. They aren’t changing. They are just trying to figure out how to “sell” it.
So state you promise to bring us none of the things that Trump stands for is not maybe the best election strategy you could formulate.
Now this is awkward because the alternative is to admit you are for some things Trump is for, which is only not self-indulgent temporizing if you get behind some of it and held it happen. Which just helps Trump.
But it will make you look better and maybe you can find a candidate and figure out something you stand for that people will go for - NEXT TIME.
The DNC is between a rock and a hard place.
If Sanders wins the nomination, many Democrats will not support his socialism, but the party will be tainted as the socialist party for a generation (not everyone sees them that way)
If Sanders loses the nomination (fairly or no), his supporters will burn the DNC down, stay home and start/join a third party, leaving the DNC in shambles for a generation.
I do not see a good outcome for the Democratic Party.
Lol! You court the wacko vote, you get what you asked for. Lolol!
Pete and Bernie are both Marxists, one’s old and the other’s gay.
Some 95% of all the personal woe in this world is self-induced.
Br’er Rabbit is whopping away on that tar-baby, and getting ever more entangled. Br’er Fox, who has set the trap, gloats at his craftiness, but even is such desperate straits, Br’er Rabbit, pleading for mercy from Br’er Fox, begs of Br’er Fox, “Do what you want with me, but please, PLEASE, don’t throw me in that brier patch!” Of course, once in the brier patch, Br’er Rabbit scrapes himself free of the remains of the tar-baby, and laughs back at Br’er Fox, “I was born and bred in the brier patch!” Rabbits, you know, are notoriously capable of passing through brier patches with no harm to themselves.
“the party will be tainted as the socialist party for a generation”
Yes, which would be rare bit of honesty on the political landscape. Bernie would have to rely heavily on Left-wing extremists like The Squad to rally the feminists, blacks and hispanics. AOC would become the face of the party to an even greater extent than she already is. Bernie’s appeal in college towns doesn’t really translate across the board. I think he would run closer against President Trump than we would like to believe, but still lose by a fairly comfortable margin. Middle America is dwindling, but it’s not quite gone yet.
Wait till the democrats pull the nomination from Bernie and the Bros bolt!
Bernie might just allow the GOP to regain the House.
I posted this before, but just a repeat. I spoke to a former cop who was in Sanders home. He said the place was a filthy pig sty, and Bernie and his wife smelled like they seldom bathe. Its a visual that I think of every time I see him on TV.
Bernie Sandles!
OK, but I'll bet Max Rose will still vote for Bernie... maybe our side should ask... and then ask 'why' if he says yes. I would like to see these people defend socialism.
In 2018, they lied to their constituents, telling them that they would work in a nonpartisan fashion to properly represent their districts. They immediately fell in line with Nancy Pelosi and followed her in lockstep all the way to their impeachment vote. Now, they are going to support Bernie if he is the nominee and lie once again, promising that they will not support the socialist agenda.
Voters know better.
Run Bernie run! Oh wait, probably not a good idea to urge a near-octogenarian, post heart attack patient to engage in rigorous activity! LOL!
“Moderate Democrats” do what they are told to do.
All of them voted to impeach Trump, Support Pelosi and implement Obamacare.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
