Good point. The cheapest rooms at Trump’s hotel in D.C. run about $350 per night ... and I’m pretty sure they don’t offer a government rate!
Two points:
(1) None of them should ever get within sniffing distance of a Trump hotel when traveling on state business.
(2) Where exactly does this idiot find anything in the constitution that says you can't stay at a Trump hotel?

Trump hotels are exquisite with exceptional service. The best meal of my life was in the Trump Hotel in DC. Husband took me there for our 25th wedding anniversary. A family of 5 ate for just over $400. More than reasonable for appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts.
Outstanding food, cooked to perfection, and 5 star wait staff.
I would highly recommend it to anyone in the DC area.
I would certainly HOPE state employees wouldn’t be staying at a Trump hotel on official business. Trump hotels are luxury hotels, not the type of establishment a state employee should be putting on an expense account.
