Yes. One can repent, but still has to face earthly Justice.
No mention of anti death-penalty protestors on this one.
Yep. God can forgive anything. We humans, not so much.
Took way too long to kill him.
Probably the best end to such a sad story. Definitely better than an unrepentant killer being put to death at least. Hopefully (for him) his repentance was real. Prayers for all involved.

Amen.
You said everything that can be said about this, in my opinion.
No prayers for the murderer. Thank you.
Forgiveness is an interesting transaction. Yes it is a transaction. It needs to be given and received. If not, it is not COMPLETE. One may give forgiveness, one may ask for forgiveness and those are good things, but if they are not both done the transaction is not complete.
In this case it would appear the transaction is complete.
They pick and choose

Presuming that his repentance was real, he couldn’t have dreaded death too much. It would have to seem like a welcome break after the mental nightmare he must experience every day knowing what he did.
Hopefully he came to know the truths in this hymn:
I have been at the altar
and witnessed the Lamb
Burnt wholly to ashes for me;
And watched its sweet savour
ascending on high,
Accepted, O Father, by Thee.
And lo, while I gazed
at the glorious sight,
A voice from above reached mine ears:
By this thine iniquitys taken away,
And no trace of it on thee appears.
An end of thy sin has been
made for thee here
By Him who its penalty bore;
With blood it is blotted eternally out,
And I will not remember it more.
O Lord, I believe it
with wonder and joy;
Confirm Thou, this precious belief;
While daily I learn that I am, in myself,
Of sinners the vilest and chief.
Why did it take so long?
No prayers for murderers. Ever.
Exactly. We are all sinners in need of salvation but it does not exonerate us from punishment in this life for the wrongs we have done. I think often God subjects us to greater punishment here for our sins as a way of disciplining us that He doesn't let us "get away with" our sinful acts. He is a loving God but also a righteous and just God.
Amen.
Have ever hated someone in your heart? Ever? Jesus said such a thought is equivalent to murder. Tough standard huh?
All have sinned/are sinful ( violated Gods perfect standard) and are guilty. God doesn’t parse sins. That is why all need a Savior. We are all guilty before God, so and unless we individually change our mind ( repent) and ask Jesus to be our substitute, we are given the death penalty in God’s economy. Sort of like this situation. While he may have found forgiveness in Gods plan, he still has to face man’s “justice” for crimes against mankind.
At least this man shows repentance for his crimes while on this earth.
Well then I've "murdered" a lot of liberals.
