He has advanced lung cancer
FWIW, I think it's genetics more than any other factor.
None of us agreed with our relatives decision..but it was right for the person and we had to accept it. Money was no object. We wanted to fight. Go anywhere..do anything. No matter how experimental.
But it wasn’t our decision.
It was tough.
But if I get the dreaded C late stage word..I will likely do the same. Go off on adventures, spend my money, and forgot the hell that comes with a few extra months.

>>>Stay away from cigars<<<
Rush smoked Cigarettes for years. He quit the Habit but he still enjoys a fine Cigar now and then.
You do not Inhale Cigar Smoke. Cigar Smoke may cause Oral, Tongue and Throat Cancer, or it may not.
Some people get Lung Cancer who never smoked one Cigarette including a couple of people known to my Family.. It happens.
I was diagnosed with Leukemia, and nobody knows why I got it. It is what it is.
Well, that sucks! This topic is the first one of nine.
My father was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the age of 91. He also chose to do nothing. He was fine until the last six weeks or so then rapidly went downhill.
I’m staying away from social media for the next few days. It’s not worth getting my BP up.
I first heard Rush in January 1989 while driving on I-75 near Tampa. Within about 10 minutes I was blown away by how much his opinions resembled mine.
Yes, Im aware of radon gas.
I was curious about the FL zip you mentioned.
“And lets petition the President for the Freedom Medal of Honor.”
This!
Good God!
I am sorry.
zip as in ZERO Nahda
Making sure it wasn't a 'hot' area/zip code :-)
Do you use dictation, to post, by chance?
Prayers for his healing and support during his treatments.
Welp, good for you! I have cancer...metastatic breast cancer (which is an automatic Stage 4 diagnosis in the lucky lottery of cancer:). It has spread to one lung and some other places.
While I'm sure everyone appreciates your concern, I wonder at your thought process.
Chances are good that at this point, Rush is focusing on saving his life and his family. Why would you want to dump the responsibility of being the "Anti-Smoking Spokesman" on him? Really????
He doesn't owe us or anyone else anything.
How 'bout you? Whatcha up to these days? You wanna be that spokesperson? Got all the time in the world and a huge budget? Go for it.
Uncalled for missy.....you’d be good to knock it off.
Lots of obese and overweight people need to stop overeating as well...they now surpass smokers in related health issues....they also have as difficult of a problem putting their fork down as a smoker does putting a cigarette down.
I agree.
I didnt say he had to be a spokesperson. But he has the microphone. He will clearly talk about it.
ANd that is a good thing.
Know your body. Know your syptoms. And dont be afraid to get your own blood tests at www.directlabs.com if a Dr won’t order them.
I frequently say this on cancer threads and have for some time. Not just today.
And in your case, be aware that your condition will influence insurance decisions on getting that gene test for other family members and yourself.
Good post sorry for your pain, all the best
