Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced on Friday that the coronavirus has been declared a public health emergency in the U.S. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Feb. 2, U.S. citizens returning from Wuhan will be subject to quarantine.
Azar said that President Trump is also temporarily suspending entry into the U.S. for foreign nationals who pose a risk of transmitting the virus.

I know. It’s one of those “trust but verify” things. Gotta go with the numbers we have, but recognize that China has a history of deceit in these matters.
According to the CDC, who have been far ahead of every looney tune in the world, only 11 to 15 % of the 25 to 32 % of those requiring ICU’s, die. What happens to those not requiring ICU’s is obviously no concern of theirs. Or actually China’s since those are China’s numbers. So party down dude.
It's always a good time to point out that there's about a 2% fatality rate based on known cases. There may be many more hidden cases, so the rate may be much lower. There may be 100's or a few thousand bodies carted off to the military crematoriums without being counted, so a 10 or 20% fatality rate is possible. But from the data so far the rate seems to be 2%
Are you looking at current deaths vs. number of infected 10-11 days ago?
A good point. We should divide delta deaths by active cases from 10 days (or more) ago. Probably still just a few percent mortality rate. And that still leaves out the undiscovered cases, clandestine deaths, etc.
Or was he trying to draw attention to the driver in a hazmat suit?

On Feb 6, almost a week away. Thus the numbers I posted.

Ah ok. But FGS, it’s pretty hard to shut everyone off immediately when tickets are already sold and schedules already made. This is not 9/11, not a huge danger clear yet, so I can see taking time to get ready for it.
But yes, 15% CFR once you're in ICU.
The point here is
a) asymptomatic transmission
b) what % progresses to ICU (overwhelming the medical facilities).
Trump should order any such judge sent to Wuhan to help them with his vastly superior ego.
Who knows, perhaps even his "resistance" skills (kek!) would come in handy there...
As long as they can quarantine the 10,000 for two weeks in the cities mentioned, as well as the flight crew per the new state dept. regulations.
