Abigail Disney has weighed in on Kobe Bryant's controversial past, after actress Evan Rachel Wood and a Washington Post journalist were berated for tweeting about a rape allegation against him from 2003, just hours after his death in a helicopter crash Sunday.
Disney - whose grandfather Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company - tweeted: 'I haven't said anything about Kobe so far because I felt some time needed to pass before weighing in. But yes, it's time for the sledgehammer to come out. The man was a rapist. Deal with it.'

It’s between God and Kobe now.
” When the officers asked Bryant whether she said no or resisted, Bryant replied, OK. Im thinking, Im thinking, Im thinking. (Pause.) Im trying to think of the conversation we had.
He admitted that he held [the accuser] from the back and that the sex lasted about five minutes.
The officers then asked Bryant, Did you ever ask her if you wanted, if you could cum in her face? Yes, Bryant replied, adding, Thats when she said no. Thats when she said no. Thats when she said no.
Define rejection. He screwed her first, very roughly. Forensic evidence. Bruises on her neck. Her blood on his Tshirt, his ejaculate on the same shirt.
Then he rejected her. Done with you, groupie, don’t tell anyone. Might have been a vengeful accusation, might have been a truthful accusation. Certainly not a disproof of rape.
[I don’t know what happened between Kobe and that girl but she agreed to settle out of court instead of testifying under oath he raped her. My personal belief is that if I were a victim of a real attack, I would hope I would seek justice and punish the accused and not simply settle out of court. That she settled makes me believe it wasn’t ‘rape-rape’ but something did transpire between the two of them. ]
And anyone should give a rats ass what this ditz thinks because?
While some of what you say is true concerning his widow and remaining children that does not negate the fact he was a self entitled, I’m Kobe and I get what I want whenever I want it, womanizer/rapist. Your idolization not withstanding.
Innocent people who know for a fact they are innocent fight in the courts to the very end.
They do not settle and issue a self serving legal statement such as issued by Kobe through his attorneys.
Example, Trump who has been sued innumerable times has never ever settled out of court. He has fought every single accusation in the courts to resolution.
Kobe had deep pockets and needed to put this behind him for his career. The woman was treated nice by Kobe but when invited to his motel room things changed; but then most rapes happens are from someone the victim likes. Kobe’s lawyer was someone that would make the victims life hell.
Actually, the accuser's story wasn't credible because:
(1) The prosecution's main witness was a coworker the accuser said she'd slept with only a day or two before the alleged rape.
(2) Not even a full day after the alleged rape, a DNA test was administered on the woman, and the DNA was found to be from another man (not Kobe).
We could go on and on about the problems the prosecution had with this case and the accuser's story.
Yes, and the DNA evidence was found to be another man's.
So youre another one continuing the anal rape charge with no evidence.
Is your observation based on a 19 year old girl going to his bedroom at night then later claiming she was raped but refused to testify but did get a truckload of money?
Found that proof of sodomy yet? Or just piling on cause you hate the guy?
It wasn't about "men she'd dated." It was about the men she'd slept with in that 3-day period, including evidence that she'd slept with a man right after the alleged "rape."
Those who think Kobe raped her, probably think the Duke kids did it, and Kavanaugh too.
Abbey, Kobe made his fortune by skill and hard work, how did you get yours? In addition - I do not have to deal with it Kobe dealt with it, he was a devout Christian. He followed Jesus who died for Kobes sins, so you see, it has been dealt with.
We have all seen that show people and professional athletes sometimes get preferred treatment and can be above the law.
Redemption is a good thing, but rape is rape. There is no going back from rape.
Good point. We saw what happened when Kavanaugh was accused.
Of course he raped her. If he wasnt a super star athlete hed be in jail. Its pretty obvious.
Im not sure when he became a devout Catholic. In 2003 he admitted to having regular sex with a side piece named Michelle. Of course, he also had a wife at home that one presumes he was having sex with. So right there its obvious he wasnt living up to his marriage vows. When Vanessa started divorce proceedings in December 2011, its possible he was up to his old tricks. They reconciled in January 2013 so maybe he got a handle on his behavior the last few years of his life, but to ascribe choir-boy characteristics to a professional athlete is disingenuous.
