Villages around the epicentre of China's coronavirus outbreak are flocking to prevent residents from the largely quarantined Hubei Province from fleeing into their land, it has emerged.
Videos and pictures circulating on social media purport to show frightened locals living near the border of Hubei resorting to various methods - including destroying roads and using weapon-wielding guards - in a desperate bid to stop people escaping from the other side.
Six villages in the province of Hebei, which does not adjoin virus-ravaged Hubei, even started to build brick walls to barricade themselves and stop outsiders, a report revealed yesterday.

I thought border walls dont work. Probably just on our southern borders.

I agree, principally , that's true.
However, when it comes to significant world health and viral issues,
our country is "re-active" (after the fact )
rather than "pro-active" (before the infection, based on logic and control).
None the less, I realize that this health issue has political, social,
and financial implications which need to be considered.
Prevention is better than reacting to the issue once it is already within our borders.
Everyone is gonna die from something; someday.
Has the US lost out because we've killed over 60,000,000; in over 40 years; by CHOICE?
What difference if they died from corona virus? The SUDDENNESS of it all?
