A new internal poll conducted for the Jeff Sessions for Senate campaign by On Message shows the candidate slipping by one percentage point, while Rep. Bradley Byrne gained to overtake former Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville.

The new poll of 700 likely Republican Voters shows Sessions with 43% compared to 44% in a previous poll from December.

It also shows Rep. Byrne at 22% a surge of 7 points. In the previous poll, Byrne was at 14%. While the race seems neck and neck between Byrne and Tuberville, who is at 21%, the surge for Byrne is significant for the prospect of a runoff.

The poll was conducted between January 13-15.

The Republican primary is March 3rd.

Alabama does have a runoff law. From the National Conference of State Legislatures:

Alabama — A runoff is required if no candidate gets a majority of the vote in the primary. The top two candidates in the primary go to the runoff.

“He was a great Senator...”

A great Senator?

He was a Senator for 20 years, voted along party lines and sponsored a few inconsequential bills.

When Sessions was a Senator his voting record was STELLAR he is a staunch conservative DOJ was way over his pay grade AND a cesspool THOUSANDS of staff ALL Trump haters AND with that Session HATERS as well!! Sessions is a very mild mannered person he was definitely NOT the right person to dump in there to drain the swamp!!! Trump was very new to DC and many of his appointment were DEAD WRONG but he needed to get his feet wet and get his bearings DC is way worse than the private sector you can’t get rid of these people and government has become a MASSIVE BEAST!!! Can you even imagine trying to run the damn thing!!

Yup....Peter's Principle

He'll get his seat back easily. The President should not have removed a sitting Senator.

Sessions was a fine Senator. Give him his gold watch and shove him into a retirement home.

Where he belongs.

Useless egg sucking coward....

Demonstrably, Jeff Sessions is a DC swamper. Why would any good American want to put him back in the DC swamp? Drain the swamp already!!

I wonder why he recused himself the first day without tell President Trump.

No matter how great Sessions might have been as a Senator prior to that, it was Session’s sole decision to leave President Trump alone to the swamp. And then dine with Comey and Mueler laughing it up on public. Yes, I remember that clearly. Sorry, it was wrong.

Was Judge Moore omitted from the poll, or does he have zero support?

Sessions loved and revered the Department of Justice, thus making him an easy mark for the crooks inside it who claimed to defend it from ignorant and ill intended outsiders.

I saw a poll a couple of days ago that had Moore in single digits. I believe it was 8%.
