Skip to comments.Susan Collins: ‘Very Likely’ I Will Vote for Witnesses at Impeachment Trial
Posted on 01/28/2020 3:05:02 PM PST by Hojczyk
Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) in comments given today to CBS News said it was very likely she would vote for witnesses at the impeachment trial.
Collins said, [B]ut for the efforts that four of us made to ensure that vote would occur, that its unlikely that we would have had that opportunity. I am pleased that every senator will have the opportunity to vote on whether or not additional witnesses and documents are necessary. It is very likely that Im going to conclude that yes, we do need to hear from witnesses.
She added, I, for one, believe that theres some gaps, some ambiguities that need to be cleared up.

The Turtle should tell her no money if you vote for witnesses
That's called a defective case by the prosecution team, you dingbat. You don't call more witnesses to correct the prosecutor's incompetence.
Willard is a given so it all comes down to Murkowski.
If she votes for witnesses she WILL lose her election.
The Pubs don’t have the votes to prevent witnesses. Wonder how much these RINO’s are getting in kickbacks or off shore bank accounts. Feh!
The Dems don't want witnesses...
The Democrats didnt do enough to make their case in the house
Theres really no upside for the Democrats in this.
Just more chance to kick the Bidens.
thwy need four not two
They need to make sure to add Romney’s buddy to the list, before he votes. Since his name came up yesterday, Romney might want to avoid his getting called.
The TURDle and a few other dirty rebuke senators are not going to be happy when their Ukraine money laundering scam exposes them. That includes a Rat senator running for president ...cant remember her name Kobuclar?
Not sure her losing is a bad thing. We’ve wasted too much time on this Rino. Yeah, the dems will get the seat so we just need to work harder to get real conservatives elsewhere.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that McConnell has told his caucus that he does not have the votes to block witnesses. He should resign as majority leader.
BREAKING: Looks like Collins may not get her wish. From The Hill:
“Senate Republicans emerged from a closed-door caucus meeting on Tuesday voicing renewed confidence that they will bypass a nasty witness fight in the impeachment trial.”
“The consensus is that weve heard enough and its time to go to a final judgement, Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) told reporters.
If we have 51 votes, I have absolutely no issue with Collins, who represents a blue state, voting to help her re-election. Better to have 50% of her than 100% of a Schumer clone in Maine
Schitt himself needs to be called to testify
Ill bet the senators stuck in the trial, not out campaigning are thrilled. Let them vote. Reap the whirl wind.
Where is your village that is missing its IDIOT?
How can anyone even stand to listen to this old kindergarten teacher voice talk?
True, but the payoff for helping the democrats will be some cushy academic job or something similar where she'll be in on the flow of siphoned off cash but not in the public eye the way she is now.
You have to figure that people on the take are worried about the deplorable mob having started to notice how much corruption is going on constantly. Getting out of the limelight you're in when you're an elected official is probably very attractive to a lot of Senators and Congress Critters right now.
