Scandal-ridden Senate candidate Roy Moore is suing a conservative media outlet for $40 million alleging "fake news," as he runs his second campaign in three years for the same Alabama seat.
The Alabama Republican lost to Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., in a 2017 special election, after facing multiple accusations during the campaign that he had pursued romantic relationships with teenage girls while he was in his 30s. Moore filed the suit against Washington Examiner on Monday.
Like the people of Alabama, I am sick and tired of fake news by media organizations which pretend to print the truth but in reality, are politically and philosophically motivated to distort the true facts for their own ends," he said in a statement. "Unlike some who choose to suffer in silence, I have decided to fight back!

No of course not.
His five minutes are long past
My take on things, is that there is fear of rehashing all.of the smears against him from the last campaign, if he were to run again.
I think that drives some of the desire to see another Republican candidate take back that Senate seat.
He would still be the Chief Justice of the Supreme court of Alabama if he weren't so kooky.(And, I voted for him every time he's run for political office.)
No more!
Moore was not electable. Regardless of the truth of the allegations, Alabama Republicans did not believe or trust him. In part because of his history that had twice caused him to be removed from the State supreme court. He was seen as a nut.
Romney, as a respected Mormon from a Mormon state, had the election won the day he announced his campaign.
“All politics is local”.
“...he would have sued the living sh*t out of Gloria Allred.”
When the Roy Moore election was on, Sean Hannity was terrified at a boycott by the feminists/leftists. He chose that campaign to wash himself clean. He more than anyone contributed to the defeat of Moore.
He would whine every day: “I don’t want him in the Senate if he is guilty...” “You have 24 hours to call in...” “Women don’t lie about such things, do they?” Limbaugh mentioned the case, then moved on. Hannity made it his main cause, day after day after day. He would read the salacious parts of the accusations. Had to stop listening.
He was still on that trip during the Kavanaugh hearings. “I think Ford should have a hearing. She deserves to be heard.”
Certainly not the first three posters on this thread.
But that is who they are, and when in debate with them it is fair to remind other people of that.
Always.
His is a conservative disaster riding on a horse wearing a big hat.
All show
The GOP wanted a corrupt swamp creature in that office. Once that became impossible, they settled for a DemocRat.
False allegations were reported as fact.
Now, we know that Alberta’s child believes that is okay, because Alberta’s Child just said as much.
Nothing else needs to be said.
Roy Moore = Richard Jewell = George Zimmerman.
Shame on all of you who keep piling on Roy Moore.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That is always the way.
We have seen it happen in NV, DE, IN, MO.
If the GOP can’t nominate a Bush League Republican, they help the Democrat win.
None of those three will ever be elected (Jewell is deceased). It's not about fair, and yes, it's a shame. But it is what it is.
Who would be a worse nominee—Roy Moore or Jeff Sessions? I’m hoping Tommy Tuberville wins.
From the article ...
The specific headlines Moore's lawsuit cites include "GOP nightmare as Alabama's Roy Moore signals he might run again" and "If Alabamans vote for Roy Moore, they deserve Doug Jones."
Forget about the politics, and the political figures involved. What is it about these two headlines that is: (1) defamatory, and/or (2) a "false allegation"?
A good morning from NM! Beautiful day here!!!
Would you have a link to the statement of his views?
Would like to read it. Thanks.
Take care........pilgrim
Washington Examiner is no better than fox news these days. There are plenty of Democrats working there now. I had a run in with one just yesterday on twitter.
To the best of my knowledge, he STILL hasn't conceded his 2010 and 2014 losses in the GOP primaries for the governor's race.
Scandel ridden? The scandals were fake, the creation of Democrats and the Republican circular firing squad. Jones’ huge funding advantage and Trump’s too-little/too-late rescue attempt didn’t help.
When you think Fake News, the Washington Examiner is not exactly one of the first publications that comes to mind.
It’s no better than fox news. Go check out the twitter of some of their writers. No different than Amazon Post.
Nonsense. Senator Shelby obviously feared he could be elected. He barnstormed the state on election eve to defeat Moore. An 80+ year old Senator does not do that if he thinks Moore can’t win.
