A pair of moderate Republican senators said Monday that the major revelations from a soon-to-be released book by John Bolton strengthen the case for calling witnesses in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial — and even a top ally of the president said Bolton would be a "relevant" witness. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said it's "increasingly likely" there will be enough Republican senators to vote in favor of calling witnesses in the president's ongoing trial.
"I think, with the story (about Bolton's book) that came out yesterday, it's increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton," Romney told reporters. Romney said he hasn't fully made up his mind on calling witnesses, but what Bolton has to say is "relevant" and "therefore I'd like to hear it." "I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton," Romney said. "I've spoken with others who've opined upon this as well."

I voted Third Party - and I’m so proud I did. The GOP had to be cleansed of the Bush-McCain-Romney types at the top. Romney’s defeat allowed that to happen - it allowed Trump to step forward and wrest the party from them.

The story deserves major attention. Romney is skunk and that can’t be repeated too many times.
We dodged a bullet when Obama beat him. And it made it possible for Trump to step in.

Bolton is like a spectator who jumps out and trips the leader of a race, just before the finish line. Sure, the leader will get back up and win the race, but the poor loser just can’t help himself. He’s beginning to remind me of Tonya Harding.
Sometimes in life, you’re faced with two choices: The bad choice, and the even worse choice.
Your way is nothing but a cop-out.

It is becoming more and more clear that none of the regular boxes are effective at steering the government any more.
Collins has been this way for a long time, supposedly because of the balance of her constituency.
Romney is just a damned snake, and deserves a commensurate reward.
You ain’t gonna get by allowing Democrats to win.
It sucks, I get it, but at least, even with Romney, we’d still have a fighting chance.
