Romney, Collins say Bolton revelations strengthen case for witnesses

A pair of moderate Republican senators said Monday that the major revelations from a soon-to-be released book by John Bolton strengthen the case for calling witnesses in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial — and even a top ally of the president said Bolton would be a "relevant" witness. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said it's "increasingly likely" there will be enough Republican senators to vote in favor of calling witnesses in the president's ongoing trial.

"I think, with the story (about Bolton's book) that came out yesterday, it's increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton," Romney told reporters. Romney said he hasn't fully made up his mind on calling witnesses, but what Bolton has to say is "relevant" and "therefore I'd like to hear it." "I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton," Romney said. "I've spoken with others who've opined upon this as well."

Then they damned well better agree to a subpoena for Biden and his crooked, crackhead son.

I have never liked Bolton since his days cheerleading for George Bush’s disastrous decision to launch the Iraq War. It was a big mistake for Trump to appoint Bolton to anything but a local postmaster job.

I have also always opposed any high office for Romney. I didn’t vote for him when he ran against Obama in 2012, and I am proud I didn’t. If Romney had won in 2012, Romney might still be president today. Can you imagine that disaster? Trump would never have been elected and the GOP would still be in the grip of the Bush-McCain-Romney establishment.

Especially since Trump also saw the Iraq War as a mistake.

Unnamed sources claim there is gossip in a draft of an unpublished book is just gossip!

Question: have they seen anything other than the Times report?

Have they seen the entire transcript?

If not, and that is probable, how can they make this claim with a straight face?

Bolton wasn’t happy about the leak and thus he doesn’t stand by it under oath.

He can write anything in a book. Just like schiffhead.

Real Americans DEMAND a subpoena of Romney, his son,
their Bain-Joseph Black plant in Burisma,
and their relationship to their “whistleblower”
used to cover this all up.

Romney and his family belong in prison.

Mitt and Susan have decided that hearsay about an
unpublished manuscript require witnesses?
We are lead by fools or are they just bargaining?

I’m so sick of these two. Just follow the constitutional process already! You’re the jury. Juries decide the cases they’re presented with, don’t rescue a failed prosecution case.
