Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) released a statement in response to new allegations that involve former National Security Advisor John Bolton's unpublished book about his time at the White House under President Trump.
The New York Times reported Bolton's book states Trump tied the Ukraine military aid to the country's officials helping investigate the former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, because he was on the board of gas company Burisma.
Multiple Senate Democrats have come out to say Bolton must testify in the ongoing impeachment trial in light of the allegation.
Meadows said Democrats are becoming desperate if they're clinging to 'anonymous sources' leaking information at the last minute.
"We’re talking about an unpublished manuscript that only ‘anonymous sources’ have seen, leaked by someone at the 11th hour, just as Democrats are losing what little impeachment momentum they had left. We’ve seen this playbook used before. Americans won’t buy it," Meadows said in a statement.
"The latest New York Times report may provide fodder for a political narrative, but it doesn’t change the facts. And in reality, the facts haven’t changed since day one of this circus. The call transcript shows zero link between aid and political investigations. The aid was ultimately released with no political investigations from Ukraine. Ukraine’s leadership had no knowledge of the hold on aid until an August 29 media report," he continued. "President Zelensky and President Trump both say 'no pressure.' And in five U.S.-Ukraine meetings between the hold and release of aid, not one time was any link between aid and political investigations discussed."
Meadows said Trump's impeachment was the result of him fighting to "drain the swamp."

Says he wants the manuscript of the book, not a big step from there.
Republicans are still in the majority so if they are pressed on Bolton they should add both Bidens, the whistleblower, Schiff and his staff guy Misko who is the whistleblowers friend who prepped the whistlelowers complaint and force the Senate to vote on the entire package of witnesses. Bet you the Dems back away because it will hurt them in congressional elections if they are seen backing corruptive influence peddling to try to impeach the President and folks like Romney and Collins will have to vote with the Republicans for the entire package.

Perhaps, but they do so at their own electoral risk. I think the voters in the case of this president will have longer memories than the swamp dwellers think they have.
With the Dems there’s always an eleventh hour revelation.
That is how the Democrats and media work together. The Democrats leak fake info to media. Media reports it and Democrats use the media as a source.

That it is but it should have been expected when Bolton shot his mouth off and brought the witness thing back to life. So the rats are within a hair of getting their witnesses. It’s turning into a he said/ he said almost guaranteeing that Bolton gets called which Trump will fight and so the circus will stay in town for god knows how long. If this had been the rats the charges would have been dismissed Friday night.

The left are claiming the ‘crime’ is in ‘The Ask’, ie they claim it’s like a person trying to bribe a judge- whether they later ‘withdraw’ the bribe or not= ‘The Ask’ was the crime- the bribe would be the crime- the left are claiming that Trump did condition aid on investigating biden, then claim Trump got caught, and withdrew the ‘bribe’ - they are claiming it doesn’t matter if the aid went through- they claim just the withholding at first was a crime-

I cant believe they are actually making a fuss over a stupid BOOK..I mean its a BOOK, unless Bolton has actual PROOF that Trump did ANYTHING wrong this is just a he said/he said..its a book, he wants to make money that simple. I can write a book too and claim that Trump told me he was Tony the Tiger doesnt make it so
Worst case scenario:
A couple Republicans vote with the Democrats to call Bolton as a witnesses. But remember, their justification for doing so will be in the interest of “fairness” and “full disclosure”. That means they will likely make their vote conditional on the Defense Team also being able to call witnesses, and if that is the condition, there may be some Democrats that vote against calling witnesses. Bottom line, the vote will likely fail.
Also, just because Romney and a few others may vote to hear witnesses, doesn’t mean they would vote to convict when the final vote comes.
I am still confident there will be no witnesses, and that all 53 Republican Senators (and some Democrats) will vote to acquit within the next week or so.
A big win for the President.

If someone from Obama’s cabinet had written a book saying that Obama did something illegal the Dems would say “This is just a disgruntled ex employee” and that would be the end of it. Notice the difference, under Obama, I hated his guts but his people were loyal to him, they would slit their own throats before they say ONE bad word about him..with Trump, they cant wait to trash him, the second they have the chance

This was expected and it won’t last long. Ponder this, how successful was Antifa in infiltrating the Richmond 2A rallies and causing chaos? There are people heavily engaged who are equipped to win decisively.
