The Virginia Department of Health is investigating three possible cases of the novel coronavirus.
The three patients, two in central Virginia and one in Northern Virginia, meet the clinical and epidemiologic criteria for the virus that's prompted China to put millions under quarantine, the Virginia Department of Health said Sunday.
The health department has not released more specific information about where the patients live, work or have traveled.

Because the virus is just so freaking harmless, right?
I have a son in Va. I think they have an obligation to release the information.
I would hate to contract a serious illness in VA, lest the governor of the state try to have me aborted.
And more breaking (Chinese) High school student at Yale conference being tested for coronavirus
How about protecting the rest of the healthy Americans by disclosing useful information about this patient without fully doxxing them.
I live in Central Virginia, which does not have a particularly large Chinese population.
I also have a keen interest in where exactly those cases are, although I have a very strong hunch.
So far, nothing in the local media.
Thank you for sharing this info.
I am supposed to go visit a fairly densely populated area this weekend. I live out in the boonies and am starting to think that I should just stay right where I am at. Put that home delivery to good use.
There are no reports of any illness around here, but the incubation time and the reports of being contagious during that time are starting to worry me, especially since the area I intend to visit gets a lot of traffic from around the world.
We now know the virus is contageous prior to symptoms appearing. I don't think we know how many days though. I've heard 5 days. Flu is one day. The Chinese health minister seemed to indicate 1 to 14 days.
That means people could be coming into the Us, without symptoms and we won't know it for another week. And THEN, the people they flue with may be coming down sick one to two weeks from now. So we could already have massive numbers of cases in the US, that have not started to show symptoms yet.
Haven’t read all the posts here but it might have more info: https://flutrackers.com/forum/search?q=virginia&searchJSON=%7B%22keywords%22%3A%22virginia%22%7D
I was thinking UVA/Cville.
Just our normal thing no worries I should go get a new tinfoil hat at Walmart. Oh yes just a normal thing coming out of China they always have viruses every year. No there’s nothing different about this one.
Me too. And guess where I live?
Epidemics are another example of why we should have high protective tariffs, and we should strive to have domestic production capablility in most industries.
I’ve read we’ve outsourced most of our anti-biotic production to China. Taiwan just banned the export of N-95 masks for fear that they may need them domestically.
If you’re China are you going to export anti-biotics when your own people are sick???
George Washington warned us not to become too entangled with foreign governments. Economic entanglement is dangerous.
I’m not opposing all trade. But every country should strive to provide the necessities for itself. That includes and production of enough food, medicines, clothes, shelter, and anything that the military needs.
Because the day may come when you are cut off. Maybe because of war. Maybe because of a pandemic. Maybe just politics or greed.
Nothing there with any specifics.
Central Virginia isnt that big of a place. Healthcare is a huge part of the economy here and the area is dominated by two large hospital systems.
It wont take long to find out exactly where those patients are.
If I were a Virginian with Coronavirus I would head directly to the capitol and lick doorknobs....just saying....
Liberals say, “Never let a crises go to waste”
I expect an attempt to shut down Trumps upcoming rally in Wildwood NJ. I would not put it past the uber Liberal Gov attempt to curtail large gatherings in the interest of protecting the citizens of NJ from the deadly virus.
The rally has 100,000 requests for tickets and promises to be a huge event in a very, very liberal State, something the Democrats definitely do not want.
We shall see.
Stay where you are. Seriously.
