Thought it may be a good idea to have a place to follow all the fast moving events in one place
updates coming in fast
Plagiarist, I did it first.
Here is a link to a big data map
Leading US health experts predicted coronavirus could kill 65million people in a year - in chilling warning three months BEFORE the outbreak in China
Scientists at Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security made the eerie prediction
Modeled hypothetical coronavirus outbreak on computer in research in October
Thanks for posting.
Thank you for posting a live thread.
I’ve been following closely - I don’t think anyone trusts the numbers from China.
Just read first case confirmed in Nepal.
180 new cases of #WuhanCoronavirus infection were confirmed in #Hubei Province, with 15 deaths all in #Wuhan; total number of infected patients rose to 729 with 39 deaths in the province, local health authority released on 5:01am Saturday local time. https://globaltimes.cn//content/1177737.shtml
Yeah, we hear all sorts of predictions!
This hysteria is what’s beginning to alarm me!
You probably want to put a copy of this in your header...

I’m all for taking this coronavirus seriously. Its deadly and scary. But you know what also is a grave threat to global health? The climate crisis.
I think we have a way to go, but don't totally believe a 100 years after the 1918 flu disaster we would quickly handle a flu pandemic. - Tom
from the CDC-:
If a severe pandemic, such as occurred in 1918 happened today, it would still likely overwhelm health care infrastructure, both in the United States and across the world.
Hospitals and doctors offices would struggle to meet demand from the number of patients requiring care. Such an event would require significant increases in the manufacture, distribution and supply of medications, products and life-saving medical equipment, such as mechanical ventilators.
Businesses and schools would struggle to function, and even basic services like trash pickup and waste removal could be impacted. snip...
Ping.
I was given a mask to wear yesterday when I went for an eye exam at one of our local hospitals. I have not noticed that many people yet wearing masks on the street (basically just Asian tourists, but not any more than usual).
Can bodies be cremated or do they have to be buried like with CJD? My kid works in the funeral biz.
“Its a pandemic ?”
WHO is likely to declare it so within a week.
The dead thread?
