Democrats have a new impeachment hero: Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano

As the Senate reconvened Thursday for President Donald Trump's historic impeachment trial, a name began trending on Twitter among those pushing for the president's removal from office: Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano.

The conservative commentator was once a Trump supporter and purveyor of conspiracy theories. But recently, Napolitano has shifted his stance on the president, voicing criticisms of Trump that are often at odds with the views of his fellow Fox News personalities.

Napolitano published an opinion piece pushing back against the president's repeated claims that the impeachment proceeding is a "hoax."

Napolitano described the proceedings as "deadly serious business based on well-established constitutional norms."

He also made a case for why he believes there is "ample and uncontradicted" evidence for the Senate to vote to remove the president, writing that there are "valid, lawful, constitutional arguments for Trump's impeachment that he ought to take seriously."

"What is required for removal of the president?" Napolitano wrote. "A demonstration of presidential commission of high crimes and misdemeanors, of which in Trump's case the evidence is ample and uncontradicted."

Tucker Carlson said Wednesday, following the first day of opening arguments for Democrats: "Imagine a movie written and directed by children whose ending you already know, and by the way, it's 20 hours long and Hungarian with misspelled subtitles." "That's what it's like."

Later that night, host Sean Hannity adopted a similar take on the day's events. "Now, if I was a terrible host, I would force you to endure watching the regurgitation, the repetition . . . the insanity that has gone on all day, America, 24 hours of never-ending babbling, repetitive talking points over what was nothing," he said.

Sorry, he’s boring. Just another attempt at arousing interest when Dems know they’ve failed.

I’m all but certain Napolitano is being blackmailed in a big way. He completely changed overnight a couple of years back and started spouting leftist talking points.

He wanted to be on the Court of Supreme Whim. I am glad he was turned down. Would have been another Souter.

There's an epic "cult" movie out there that's just like this. It's a Woody Allen movie called What's Up, Tiger Lily? He took a Japanese spy thriller and dubbed the entire thing with ludicrous English dialogue. It's absolutely hysterical. LMAO.

He has the weirdest hairline. It’s like hair is growing out of his forehead not his scalp.

Years ago, I sort of enjoyed listening to the Judge. He even called in frequently to a local radio host in St. Louis. At that time, he was adamantly against Hillary Clinton, and he would breathlessly declare how she had violated so many laws, and was in deep legal jeopardy. So, it appears he was always wrong back then, too!

Another Freeper who knows some of these people personality explained it all a few days ago.

None of these people really believe the nonsense they spout on the air. Fox is a "tabloid TV" network that runs sensationalist bullsh!t for its content, and the whole thing is designed to get viewers agitated -- but to keep them tuned in.

This other Freeper said the biggest B.S. artist on Fox is Juan Williams, who is much more conservative than you'd ever know from watching him.

Why are we paying attention to a NJ Superior Court judge for information on the Federal process?

I feel better every time I read some of Nappys opinions.

He is ALWAYS wrong. So now when he says this is the end of the line for President Trump I know he will be cleared of everything.

Thanks for brightening my day, Nappy.

I’ve said for 3 decades now that Libertarians are just Democrats that want lower taxes. They want you out of the bedroom( sodomy), they want dead babies( abortion), want drugs, open borders, ect. Where they get their knickers in a knot is a tax hike or regulations. They choose Republicans because they can’t get one of their own elected.
