Lots of interesting reading in this story, much more than the title implies. My favorite tidbit concerns Ted Cruz. The RATs noticed his twitter account was actively commenting. Since phones were against the rules they accused Ted of being in violation. The tweets were from Ted's staff who then tweeted an image of the phone with the comment 'Come and Take it' in the Molon labe style.

No. He maintains order over the proceedings, The Senators make the rules and finial judgment. If 67 of the Senators find him guilty he is removed from office immediately and the Vice President is sworn in as President.
In my opinion, the Republicans are going to let the House Managers present their charges, with rebuttal from the defense, then vote. Mitch McConnell is not going to allow the Democrats to turn this into a circus like what was done to Judge Kavanaugh.
