A marathon first day in the Senate impeachment trial against President Trump erupted into a shouting match well after midnight early Wednesday morning, as Trump's legal team unloaded on Democratic impeachment manager Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. -- in an exchange that prompted a bleary-eyed Chief Justice John Roberts to sternly admonish both sides for misconduct in the chamber.
Nadler began the historic spat by speaking in support of the eighth amendment of the day proposed by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, after each of Schumer's previous attempted alterations to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's rules were rejected by a united Republican contingent by a vote of 53-47. The eighth amendment, issued as the clock struck midnight, was to issue a subpoena for former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who has reportedly described Trump's conduct as akin to a "drug deal."
Nader, who was overheard apparently planning to impeach Trump back in 2018, said it would be a "treacherous vote" and a "cover-up" for Republicans to reject the Bolton subpoena, claiming that "only guilty people try to hide evidence."

With the first day session going to 1:40 AM, and most Senators over the age of 60...there’s going to be aggravation daily, and a lack of sleep will only make the tense nature more aggravating. Wouldn’t surprise me if you have at least one Senator with health conditions dragged out before the end of this impeachment.
So they don’t have any evidence then for the two articles?
They don’t have any evidence if they don’t have Bolton’s testimony, yet they passed two articles based on what, then?
Roberts unquestionably DeepState
Shouting match?
I want to see fists and feet flying!
If they knew back when they were screaming “RUSSIAN COLLUSION!! that is was really the UKRANIANS, did it really happen?
I have Nadless in the dead pool as the first to go down with a health crisis.
Roberts can just keep his Obamacare-mouth shut as far as I’m concerned.
Nadler. Diabetic Coma, just like he had last year.
This whole business, and everything that came before it, going back to late 2015, and everything to come later this year, is proof that Trump totally f’d up the minds of democrats, some republicans and all lefties- which can only be described as a total mindf’k of all time.
Ward, the Beaver is tired.
Same here, I always said he looks pale to me as if he is ready to topple over.
I am also curious why the Trump defense team has been so quiet about the fact that Trump is the Chief Executive Officer of the Justice Department, and that Trump has a good faith belief that Joe and Hunter Biden have violated the law.
Faulty articles to begin with, might as well impeach him because it's Weds, or Fri, those aren't listed either.
100 Senator total...
DiFi is almost 87, Maxine is almost 82, Nancy herself being 80 on March 26, and many men are aged..McConnell is almost 78..and AGE DOES MATTER..
I personally am sick and tired of the US CAPITAL BUILDING being use as a retirement home for the ill, aged, and elderly...this is getting to the point of just plane STUPID..
NADLE MADE a total fool of himself, and at almost 73 and with obvious health problems had to lean on the podium and kept fidgeting with placement of his arms and hands, for support to stand...He used an emergency illness of his WIFE to miss one of the Impeachment meeting this past Fall, and I personal feel it was HE who had the health issue and not his wife...they do love to ‘play the ‘blame game’ .
OK..jmo and it is late...Niters all.
I heard insults, not shouts.
The plan is to try and weaken as many GOP senators as possible, by making the ridiculous claim of coverup. Meanwhile bogging down the Senate from approving more federal judges. If they get mud to stick on Trump, it’s a bonus.
All the judge has to do is rule that the prosecutions case is baseless, without merit or any legitimate charge, unconstitutional on its face and run the 2 articles of impeachment through a shredder on national TV. But Roberts cant tell the difference between a tax and a fee so I seriously doubt he could find his own ass with both hands, a map, and a flashlight.
as I said...JMO...but do look at him, and observe him, if you get the chance....
