Kelly's Trump tweet in NY-27 race makes Bills fans shout on Twitter (Cancel Culture)

Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly is getting slammed to the turf on Twitter for supporting Republican Beth Parlato in her bid to replace former Rep. Chris Collins for New York’s 27th District seat in Congress.

Kelly’s tweet on Saturday endorsing Parlato brought a blitz of replies, some of which sacked the beloved former Buffalo Bill for entering the political fray in support of a conservative candidate aligned with President Trump.

Kelly’s inclusion of Trump’s twitter handle in his tweet appeared to attract the most ire.

“Nooo. You just went there. The minute you mentioned Trump I’m out,” replied Kim Carroll of Parker, Colo.

“Not a good look Jim. Stick to football,” added Bob Roeder of Buffalo.

“We lost a hero today,” tweeted @ThePincente, who included a GIF of a crying boy.

Kelly’s tweet generated 335 – mostly negative – replies in 16 hours and was "liked" more than 2,400 times.

In the tweet, Kelly said that his daughters grew up with Parlato’s children. “We know her and trust her to stand for what matters most.”

The tweet also seemed to state that Trump was supporting Parlato, but there is no public record of Trump endorsing her or anyone else in the race for the 27th Congressional District seat.

"President @realdonaldtrump my wife, Jill and I are supporting @BethforCongress for our district #NY27 Our daughters grew up together; we know her and trust her to stand for what matters most. She’s a strong conservative/republican we believe can win special elec 4/28."

The guy simply tweets his support for a political candidate without attacking or smearing anyone else and the twitterverse goes apoplectic. Compare that to the political tweets coming from the left where it's not enough just to support a candidate, but they have to wish death and destruction on the other candidate and that candidate's family for the mortal sin of being conservative and supporting President Trump.

They act as if Jim Kelley posed with a simulated severed head of a democrat president.

2400 likes vs 350 negatives looks like overwhelming support to me. Funny that is not what the headline implies..funny.

Hmmm, tough decision .. Jim Kelly is supporting a candidate of whom he has firsthand knowledge since their kids grew up together. Meanwhile, we have some moron from across the country whose only basis for an opinion is that President Trump also supports candidate Parlato.

Yeah, even though I'm a Jets fan, I'm gonna have to side with the ex-Bills QB on this one.
