Oh, yeah. Going out eight weeks, or until 19 March, we have the following states:
Iowa
New Hampshire
Nevada
South Carolina
Alabama
American Samoa
Arkansas
California
Colorado
"Democrats Abroad"
Maine
Massachusetts
Minnesota
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Idaho
Michigan
Mississippi
Missouri
North Dakota
Washington
Arizona
Florida
Illinois
Ohio
Biden will lock up the nomination while the Senators are admiring Nanzi Pelosi's souvenir pens and listening to hearsay "evidence"...
How many judicial seats have a vacancy?
Spoke to @RandPaul this evening about how he is fighting to defend Trump during this impeachment nonsense:
Sen. Rand Paul Says GOP Will Shaft Trump, Allow Democrat Witnesses and Block His Requests Warns Colleagues Not to Commit Political Suicide https://t.co/jZJ5rLbNsv— Cassandra Fairbanks 🕊 (@CassandraRules) January 16, 2020
Certainly that’s how I look at it.
Behind the scenes judicial nominees are being approved by the Executive committee and lined up for another confirmation spree on the Senate floor.
This week Brasher, the only Circuit court nominee standing in the wings, was approved by the Senate Executive Committee along with 2 District Court nominees and 1 International court nominee.
That brings the tally to 9 District (including one VI & one PR), 1 Tax Court, 1 International Trade Court and 1 Circuit court nominee on the Senate floor ready for cloture and confirmation.
For 79 present judicial vacancies (including 6 for Federal Claims & 2 for International Trade) & 12 announced future vacancies we have a total of 22 nominees either on the Senate floor or before the Executive committee. There may be additional nominees, who were returned to the President on 1/3/20 at the end of the session, who will be renominated as well. I expect that when the impeachment theatre is over Mitch will move quickly to confirm the 9 on the floor.
I am not in favor of a protracted Senate trial. I do not believe it would help the president.
However, I do see the possibility that severe damage will be done to the democratic selection process if idiot Democratic senators are tied up for the next eight weeks. Or longer. I sure hope Senator Cruz and others know what theyre doing.
Yep!
I’ve already started stirring the pot on DU w my “burner” accounts. In 2016, I convinced students that Killary was going to win by a landslide and we need to vote Stein or Johnson to send the DNC a msg for “Burnin’ the Bern”.
I’m going to do a similar pot stirring theme, that impeachment is the DNC’s way of rigging the primary of Warren and Bernie, so Killary can run against PDJT.
Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar should be forced to RECUSE.
They have a major conflict of interest.
Rats never recuse. Never. Hell, one of Obongos SC Judges ruled on Obongo care when she helped write it.
You left out universal abortion.
I'm not either, it dignifies this wretched charade. I suspect that given the weight of the consequences - 28 states, mind you - the Dems will demand a rule change that they won't get to allow voting Senators to campaign instead of attending. Or Warren and Bernie will simply blow the trial off and hope that their media can paper the thing over, which isn't going to happen either.
Mitch is up for re-election this year. Because I support term limitations on principle, I’d like to see Mitch go, but no Republican will run against him, and the Democrats can’t nominate anyone who is competent.
Keep up the good work!
Trump and the GOp need to make a huge deal about this.
One of the bogus articles of impeachment is based on Bidens running for office.
those senators have no business acting as a “jury” when they are in the exact same situation.
Yeah, but it wouldn't be as much fun as being able to expose the Democrats as the frauds they are, for weeks on end.
You are correct, I'd forgotten Klobuchar. Nice catch.
They're not going to be holding a trial 24/7. McConnell can, and should push through Judges when the trial isn't in session. Can't he hold evening sessions to specifically push through new Judges? Nothing's stopping him from doing that.
What the heck, this entire impeachment process is a farce.
