If the Trump era has taught us anything, it's that large numbers of white people in the United States are motivated at least in part by racism in the voting booth. Donald Trump ran an openly racist campaign for president, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, regularly retweeting white supremacists and at least initially balking at repudiating former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.
Trump made it clear in his campaign that "Make America Great Again" meant that America was greater when white people's power was more sweeping and more secure. White voters approved of that message by a whopping 58 To 37 percent.
Some politicians deny the evidence, no doubt because they don't want to alienate white voters, including prejudiced ones. Other commentators try to parse whether Trump's racism will be a winning strategy in 2020. Terry Smith, visiting professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, offers a different response in his new book, "Whitelash: Unmasking White Grievance at the Ballot Box."
Rather than excuse racist voters or try to figure out how to live with their choices, he argues that racist voting is not just immoral, but illegal. The government, Smith says, has the ability, and the responsibility, to address it.

Hasn't, for two or three decades.
They’re getting closer and closer to the “We just can’t trust people enough to have elections” stage.
When everything becomes “racism” nothing is racism.
The more they scream it the less it means.
More and more people can see the ridiculousness of these charges.
We need to stop responding like these people have any meaningful influence, they don’t, Trumps win against otherwise insurmountable cheating is an example of their waining power.

George W. Bush tied Trump at 58%.
The last Democrat candidate for president to get more than 50% of the white vote was - Lyndon Johnson, in his 1964 landslide victory against Goldwater.
In the same election, LBJ got 61.1% of the total popular vote, the highest percentage in presidential history.
Yeah, we Trump voters hate every Black athlete, performer, doctor, etc. We always turn the TV channel when a Black is on the TV. We move to the sidewalk on the other side of the street when we see a Black person coming. We won’t buy anything from a Black salesperson. Wow, these people who perpetuate racism are nuts. It’s not Trump voters who are racists. That has been proven time and time again.
He’s a self-hating Jew of the stripe that populated Lenin’s Cheka. He despises Western civilization because of its Christian foundations.
This needs to have a widespread campaign. Our education system has gone to the dark side (no pun intended). Maybe not the best choice of words.

If I got a dollar for every time the word “racist” is thrown around, I would be one wealthy woman.
If anyone needs proof that Democrats are quietly panicking about Trump’s polling numbers among black voters, look no further. It’s like clockwork, every bit as reliable as SPLC flunkies tossing out “klan” flyers in Jewish neighborhoods when they aren’t meeting their fundraising goals.
