The Trump administration on Friday marked the 100th mile of wall construction along the southern border -- describing it as a “milestone achievement” and promising that there are many more miles to come by the end of the year.

“Today is a milestone that has been reached and a celebration is in order,” Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said in front of wall in Yuma, Arizona...

President Trump tweeted: "Entire Wall is under construction or getting ready to start!"

The money bomb is dropping on the Border Wall Program, with billions more going onto contract in the coming weeks and months. Perhaps $10 billion will be put on contract this year, dramatically more than ever before.

By this Summer, we are looking at a frenzied pace of construction - dozens of crews, building more than a mile per day - the highest priority miles, with super effective complete Wall System.

With some 1900 miles of border there are still
miles & miles to go before it is fenced.

“With some 1900 miles of border there are still

That’s for the second term. The alternative, it appears, will be a Democrat president tearing down every mile of wall...whether or not Trump was the one who put it up.

A lot of those 1900 miles are in rugged/impassable terrain without roads.

The President has been emphasizing high-traffic chokepoints first, including the erection of his bollard fencing to replace extensive regions of FINO.

To all you naysayers like our blonde idiot Anne Coulter about the wall

Of that 1900 miles there’s about 2 to 300 that people actually cross that are gnarly OK?

Anywhere near the town of imperial Beach California , south of San Diego is the number one priority

Then you have a bunch of areas in Texas and Arizona that are gnarly desert with giant mountains

If we get these 30 foot bollard type walls up and those 2 to 300 miles illegal immigration goes down 99%

Look you may really really really want to get United States but you ain’t dealing with 100° desert heat and giant crazy mountains to get here OK

What you say makes perfect sense, but it doesn’t read too well.

To put it another way: We get FAR MORE bang for the buck with 300 miles of strategically placed walls (which is what Trump is doing), as opposed to walling up the other 1600 miles, much of it inaccessible.

The Wall is the only reason I voted for Trump; otherwise, I had very low expectations and thought any thing else would be gravy. We have a lot of gravy and a little wall.

But I'm not complaining. I fully understand that Trump has fought this battle all by himself with absolutely no help from anyone and courts have tried to stop every inch of the Wall.

So I am very happy Trump has tried to build the Wall, although, we don't really need a big beautiful Door in the Wall, I might add.

I went to Big Bend National Park in May of 2019 and then drove along the border west of the park, as far as the road took me - about 100 miles or so. The drive is absolutely beautiful and very remote. There really is no need for a Wall along this stretch. The Rio Grande is narrow, but there are sheer bluffs on either side of the border - perhaps 200 feet high or so in many areas that no one will be able to get from one side to the other.

There are other areas along here that while easier to cross, I just don't see a normal person being able to do it. I also don't see a Wall in Big Bend National Park, either. There are some areas here where someone can easily cross, but with all the rangers and border patrol, won't get too far.

False security. A wall can be broken open or allowed to be breached by a leftist state. It will be nowhere near as effective as needed changes in the law.

Hasn't this wall been built three times now?

How many times do you have to build it before it is not a priority anymore......bs

What utter bs. The entire stetch from the Pacific to the Texas border is slated to be built BUT the Texas border only has a very small part around El Pissoff and Brownsvile/Laredo area.

As much money that the Texas tax payer pays to the corrupt oligarch in DC, it would seem there would be more being built in Texas. Just another way that the Federal government abuses Texas taz payers.

Time to get the hell out of this deal with America and the 49 bitches. Our cow died, we don't need your bull

WOW one trip to this area and we have another expert. Is that you Hannity?

I spent 11 years on the Texas southern border and I have seen and witnessed 100s of deaths on this stretch you are talking about. These are the ones found, not the ones buried in cairns or the ones ate by the animals.

This is a drug runners paradise. Did you pass any vehicles on your 100 mile drive? If you did there is a high probability they were running drugs.

This what I think would fit Trumps definition of a ‘Big Beautiful Wall’.

No one has ever proposed to build new barriers for the entire border.

Geography ignorant wall advocates can’t visualize and don’t know what you are talking about. To them, the wall is being built over flat plains. It’s all flat out there

Agree. ...I think many FReepers just don’t understand how the terrain on the terrain along the Texas border differs greatly from that along CA and AZ.
