You are such a blathering idiot who made up what you just wrote. Your ignorance can be seen from space.

You wrote what only an ignorant yahoo can write.

You did not spend 11 years in the area that I wrote about, since you never would have written such lazy and grotesque lies.

The area has sheer cliffs of 200+ feet on each side of the border to a shallow Rio Grande. No one is going to attempt to scale these rock walls twice. It just isn't possible unless Batman is nearby.

You didn't witness hundreds of deaths on this stretch and no, there aren't drug runners either since they would need to repel down 200+ feet, cross the river and then repel 200+ feet up the other side.

What a colossal idiot you are.

Trump has already said that there will be no need to build a wall in areas with natural borders.

As you continue west, the road ends as the terrain climbs even more. The west Texas mountains are very high. You are such a proven liar.

I think Dave was referring to the areas near Big Bend where the cliffs along the river are about 300 ft., not the areas closer to El Paso where there is easier access.

That's what I wrote - west of Big Bend. El Paso is a different matter. You noticed how he wrote El Paso, who has some emotional issue with Texas and perhaps should move from the state.

Much of the land west of El Paso is privately owned and some of those folks don't want a wall on their property. It will take a while to resolve those issues.

Repel up?
I would watch what I write when referring to someone as an idiot.
Your not supposed to personally attack someone on this site.

OK...then please tell the other thousands on this site not to attack either, so don't single me out, got it?

And you knew what I meant, too. And yes, the other fella is an idiot and I offer zero apologies. If you don't like it, too bad.

Well he’s got 11 months left and none of the traitors against this country who tried to deny the people the right to a fair election have been arrested. And after 3 years I think we can safely assume none of them will be arrested so of COURSE once again they are going to mess with the election and what if they succeed this time? We can forget about a wall ever being built. My point being Trumps priority right now should be the arrests of these enemies of the USA in our government. Why the F is James Comey still waltzing around like Fred Astaire? For all we know he could be meeting with every crook across the country planning massive election fraud.

We get a lot of negative nancies when it comes to wall threads. There is NO such thing as “impassable” areas ...thats why they are called smugglers. They figure these out..

“False security. A wall can be broken open or allowed to be breached by a leftist state.”

A breached wall would be the least of our problems with a leftist state.

I may if you promise to repel going up with no rope. Maybe one of those cliffs at Big Bend. The place no drug smuggling happens.
Get a dictionary.

“With some 1900 miles of border there are still
miles & miles to go before it is fenced.”

Highly reviewed, thorough analysis by experts concluded that about 1.100 miles of new barrier were needed.

Five days after inauguration, on 25 Jan. 2017, President Trump issued Executive Order 13767, titled Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements, that directs a wall to be built, and a Comprehensive Plan be developed to achieve full operational control of the Southern border.

That Comprehensive Plan had to consider all the possible tradeoffs, to make the best use of the money available (aiming carefully, before firing). The result was a plan requiring five years, $25 billion, 1,100 miles of barrier to be built, thousands of new full time positions, and several technology programs.

That plan was thoroughly reviewed at several levels, including independent teams of auditors and analysts at both OMB within the Executive Branch, and CBO within the Legislative. It was kicked back several times due to questions raised, including every objection that the opposition could dream up. It was finally accepted by Congress in December of 2018.

Any barrier can be overcome. With ropes and ladders, men climb Mount Everest. But barriers can be designed that provide measurable effects that deter, delay or defeat infiltration by any given means (tunneling, climbing or breaching). So they engineered a system that would be effective according to the known variables they encounter - so-called “Border Calculus”.

The basic equation is that time available to intercept, is the difference between the time when the target is detected, and when it disappears into the country. In urban areas, illegal crossers can disappear in minutes, whereas in rural areas they can be tracked for days.

The appropriate mix of detection technology, delaying barrier and response roads varies greatly from one place to another. The few minutes of delay required for ladders and ropes becomes insignificant when response is fifty miles away - only detection and tracking really matter out there.

Along with the massive barrier building program, technology is rolling out to cover the rural areas. Technology is planned to monitor every mile of the border.

So far, President Trump has managed to dedicate $4,6 billion from Direct appropriations, as well as $6.7 billion from other sources in 2019 (Total $11.3 B) -but he is free to use the same extraordinary and emergency measures in 2020, as he did in 2019. If he re-purposes another $6.7 billion this year, that would bring the total funding to a whopping $18 billion.

That gets us to the low end of the cost estimates to completely secure the border. Since the spending has been painstakingly prioritized, the early dollars (and first few hundred miles of barrier) do the great of what needs to be done. Toward the end of the program, there is increasingly less functional effect from each additional dollar, or mile of barrier.

The bottom line, is that by the end of this year, a credibly complete border security solution will be funded and on contract, and the bulk of the functionally effective capability (most important few hundred miles) will be complete.

We still see the impact of Obama district court judges gumming up the works.

Continued replacement of Obama and Clinton ckt judges along with youth movement of Dubya/Papa Bush/Reagan judges is needed to protect immigration reforms and border wall progress.

Much of the old wall needs replacing that is not in the prioritized zones. How much of non-San Diego California border is really protected. Otay Mesa, Tecate, Jacumba, Calexico need backfill attention after South Texas and Yuma to Organ Pipe are sealed with the Trump wall.

Then high tech needs to marry tracking with law enforcement apprehension.

Glad to see from your comments that South Texas from Del Rio to Laredo to Falcon Reservoir to the Gulf are priority for 2020 dollars.

What about El Paso and east until no more border roads? IIRC only few miles in El Paso have the new fence. Isn’t most of the rest laughable, relying on freeway fencing and traffic to deter.

“False security. A wall can be broken open or allowed to be breached by a leftist state. It will be nowhere near as effective as needed changes in the law.”

Actually, it’s more the other way around. It would be much easier for some future administration to change the law, or better yet, ignore it, than tearing down existing wall. What would you rather have protecting your house, a sign out front that says “No Trespassing. Violators Will Be Prosecuted”, or a nice formidable wall?
