On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” former Secretary of State John Kerry commented on President Donald Trump’s speech earlier in the day.
Trump said the Obama administration’s “foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash.”

This has been talked about for YEARS, and Kerry just now remembered he had an explanation for this travesty.

Kerry’s argument is bunk even on its own terms. Trump said
“they were given $150 billion” and
“the funds made available by the last administration”.
Kerry’s argument is that a court ordered the US to give them the money and so therefore Trump’s statement is a lie. That is bunk for two reasons:
1. Every administration since Jimmy Carter refused to give them the money despite any court order so the implication that they had no choice is bunk.
2. Just because a court orders you to give someone something doesn’t make it a “lie” to say you gave it to them.
Kerry’s best argument would be “Yes, we gave it to them but we had to give it to them (even though Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush somehow refused to do so).”
I agree....Tucker Carlson is hot and cold with me. Just when you enjoy listening to him, he turns and starts bashing Trump...
Here’s the thing.
Iran suddenly had $150 billion to fund terrorism, several proxy wars, and a nuclear weapons program.
Obama approved the release of the funds to them.
What Trump actually said was 100% correct. There is no reason to have changes it.
How much was that Drone Obama gave to Iran cost?

I leave my TV on most of the time, muted. That way I don't have to listen to them natter, niggle and parse.
The point Kerry is making is that we froze Iranian assets in 1979.
Those assets continued to accrue interest or grow in value as the years went by.
A court ordered us to give the frozen assets back at their current value.
We gave Iran back their own money. Not taxpayer money.
Now, I think we can all agree that Iran did not distribute any of that money back to their original owners and that the portion given in cash disappeared pretty quickly.
I am not defending Kerry or saying that any of this was good idea. I am merely clarifying that the US did not pay taxpayer money to Iran for any of this—other than the cost of delivering the cash to them on pallets.
It is important to use facts and not get emotional. The Liberals use emotion and not facts.

It was a mixture of US Dollars and foreign currencies.

Barack Obama screwed the US txpayer out of almost $900 billion going into office (the "Stimulus").
And he screwed us out of another $150 billion or more on his way out of office.
Not to mention the hundreds of millions in weapons and "aid" he was able to slip to muslim terrorists during the 8 miserable years he polluted the White House.
And I have always wondered how much of that $900 billion "Stimulus" money ended up in various secret foreign bank accounts belonging to Obama and other top demopcrats.
