Investor, CEO, and presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg says he would allow investors and employers to hire the the best workers from around the world instead of Americans.
This country needs more immigrants and we should be out looking for immigrants, Bloomberg told the San Diego Union-Tribune on January 5.:
For those who need an oboe player for a symphony, we want the best one. We need a striker for a soccer team, we want to get the best one. We want a farmworker, we want to get the best one. A computer programmer, we want to get the best one. So we should be out looking for more immigrants.
The reporter did not ask Bloomberg to define best. But for cost-conscious shareholders and executives, best is a synonym for cheaper than Americans.
If business were able to hire without restrictions from anywhere in the world, pretty much every [Americans] occupation would be foreignized, said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. He continued:
Americans would have to accept dramatically lower earnings, whether they object or not. Not just landscapers and tomato pickers, [because] Indians and Chinese by the millions can do nursing and accounting. There would not be any job that would not see its earnings fall to the global average.
Bloomberg who has an estimated wealth of $55 billion is trying to exempt investors and shareholders from the nations immigration rules, said Krikorian. For Bloomberg, immigration laws are not one of those things that should be allowed to interfere in [the growth of] shareholders value, he said.
It is obviously unprecedented but this is not obviously different from [President] George [W.] Bushs ideal immigration plan [and] he is expressing a pretty standard Republican plutocrat approach to immigration, he added.

That’s a winner, Mike, keep preaching that.
Not.
Midget ass out? LOL. Truely a fine description. I doff my deplorable ball cap to you sir. Sweet!
Completely agree.
100 percent.
Mikey really wants to be president in 2020.
but this is not obviously different from [President] George [W.] Bushs ideal immigration plan....

There are still many Bush League Republican Senators who still want to complete the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA)
How are all those retrained coal miners and oil workers going to compete with foreign workers for coding jobs? Hey, wait. Is there even a market for entry level coders?
We should also hire the best foreigners to run for President Mikey. I hope he gets hit by a cab crossing the street. THIS is what the “elite” think of all of US. THEY ARE TRAITORS.
and just how did Mr. Stupid earn his money? This is funnys
Check back in history.
This used to say, “Italians need not apply.” “Catholics need not apply.”
How things change.
Union leaders will still support democrats including him. Trump has been the best “Union” President in my lifetime given the economy, rising wages, low unemployment, and the miraculous recovery of our manufacturing sector (dominated by unions).
Up is down and down is up.
The Dems openly display a distinct disdain of hiring American.
[ Mike Bloomberg: Employers Should Hire The Best Foreigners Instead Of Americans ]
I got things to say to Bloomberg and every other traitor like him. They are not nice things, either.
He can get stuffed like the Booshes. That’s the nicest thing I can say on FR.
There are very few essential men. Virtually every foreign worker here in the U.S. is here because they work cheaper. That's it. It's not because their skill set can't be found in the U.S. because it can, but most likely it can't be found in a workers willing to work for less than competitive wages.
It's the same with manufacturing. Everybody wants a blender for $10 so we bring them in by the boatload from China, it would cost "too much" if they were made in the U.S. by Americans. With every $10 blender you bring in the Chinese standard of living by costing a U.S. worker that job making those blenders. Consumers love it because they get cheap products, grandma likely couldn't afford a blender but Susie the trailer queen can buy one since it's only $10 at China Mart. American workers are out of a job but the owners of appliance making companies are grinning all the way to the bank since a $10 blender now brings them 90% profits instead of 15% they used to make on U.S. made ones.
Meanwhile middle class America gradually disappears and the living conditions slowly begin to resemble the Chinese and Indian lifestyle. We're making our citizens compete with them for jobs so it's only natural that our lifestyles will merge also.
Have you ever been to India or China and seen how the average person lives? I have many times for work, I can tell you it's miserable. China and India are dumps to put it mildly and the average citizen lives in squalor. That's what we're turning our country into when we import third world labor and third world products. There is no free lunch.
This flies in the face of current public opinion.
This alone could turn the guy to toast.
BS. I was here then. The LazyFaire nonsense was nonsense here too. Immigration has devastated wages in the USA in MANY industries.
It is NOT conservatism to artificially force wages down and concentrate wealth into fewer and fewer people.
That’s how Bolsheviks like Bernie become popular.
And, if the only choice I have to put food on the table is to become a Bolshevik and pillage and loot the beautiful people, I just may give it a go.
The silliness of ideological no regs libertarians is as utopian as the Dems nonsense and Bush’s nonsense of nation building in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Our country has plenty of labor, and companies need to increase pay, training, etc. to do THEIR part in making America great again.
Prudence then, prudence now, prudence always.
And send the welfare dregs the hell back where they came from.
I DO NOT get the logic of trying to unemployment Americans. That really makes me angry.
