Ironic that the Dems want to know the whistleblower now. I imagine the Mullahs would pay a pretty penny for that information.
Trump says, "sure, here are all the facts" and the facts turn out to be that Israel actually took the guy out and the US agreed to take the heat to keep Israel out of the limelight, or that an Iraqi Sunni group blew Salami man away with an IED and the US hit the wreckage at the site to take the blame and keep from fueling the Shiite/Sunni fighting in Iraq.
At that point, how long would it take for Nancy to start screaming about Trump publishing classified information?

A lot of The intel behind the end of Salami probably came from Non American sources: Russia, Israel, the UK and ????.
So we can’t reveal sources nor ours to satisfy the anti America Elite rat thugs in Congress.
So maybe in 50 years, we might be able to reveal all the intel sources without endangering allies and other sources.
Those are good points, but every report I’ve seen about that guy SoulMan seems to suggest that he was basically traveling in plain sight for years.

The main point is that declassifying the information being requested serves no national security/intelligence purpose. Even if it’s as mundane as “everybody knows who & where he is” it doesn’t need be published to the world.
Trump should simply call Democrats out on “whose side are you on?”
I suppose that will be much of his campaign.
Sharing such information with people whose sole reason for existence destroy you and your presidency?

If that information is released, then the dems will accuse Trump of endangering national security by releasing classified information for political reasons, ie, another impeachment charge.
While G W Bush was the President, someone in the govt leaked battle plans to the New York Times, who promptly published them for all the world to see.
The dims and the media have a pattern.
Don’t give them anything.
The Democrats are national security risks. Releasing anything to them would be giving aid and comfort to our foreign enemies. If the Dems can get a lot of our soldiers killed, they will and then accuse Trump of doing it.

I got the letter right here. The pigeon delivering it stopped by my place for some water and bread. The letter reads - We came, we saw, he died.
We apparently still needed some kind of inside information to target him, so it wasn't like he was officially permitted to roam at will. Gen. McChrystal recalled one specific occasion where they had a bead on him, but decided not to strike. But that doesn't sound like Soleimani routinely walked around in the open, nor does it sound like McChrystal believed that killing him would have been a violation of the rules of engagement. Seemed more like a tactical decision not to rock the boat.
Seems like some people assumed that, as a matter of policy, we wouldn't kill the guy. But it doesn't sound like there was an legal/official prohibition against taking him out.
