Senate Democratic leadership is urging President Trump to declassify the official war powers notification he submitted to Congress regarding the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani via a drone strike.

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Bob Menendez wrote a letter Sunday to Mr. Trump asking him to release the notification that was transmitted to Congress this weekend. The letter to the president was made public on Monday.

“It is critical that national security matters of such import be shared with the American people in a timely manner,” Mr. Schumer and Mr. Menendez wrote. “An entirely classified notification is simply not appropriate in a democratic society, and there appears to be no legitimate justification for classifying this notification.”

But an entirely classified examination of impeachment "witnesses" is justified?

The problem here is that we pretty clearly had someone with access to Soleimani who gave us the information as to exactly when and where he would be. You can bet that the Iranian's are trying very hard to figure out exactly who that was. Any additional information we give will only help that search.

Alternatively, if it was electronic intelligence rather than human intelligence, the same thing applies. They'll look for the means/methods of how his location were communicated electronically to figure our how the intercept may have occurred. And the more information we release regarding his specific plans for attack, the more they'll be able to narrow down exactly what we are accessing to give us that information.

Uh, didn’t the Democrats just spend the last three years tying his hands with impeachment threats over exposing “sources and methods” to keep him from presenting exonerating evidence on the witch hunt / coup against him and to prevent him from exposing Obama ear misconduct and criminality
