Radio broadcaster Don Imus has died

Radio shock jock Don Imus, one of the early pioneers of his genre, died Friday less than two years after retiring, according to a family statement given to NBC New York.
He was 79.
The controversial morning personality’s last day on the radio was on March 29 of last year. He had announced on Jan. 22 that he was retiring, telling fans: “Turn out the lights...the party's over."

A few times I almost drove off the road from LMAO listening to him. One time while playing a clip of Charles Rangell babbling in that raspy voice of his, Imus cut it off his “bomb button”, cut it off and said “go smoke another pack of Camels you pantload!” Sadly he just didn’t sound the same since he had his lung removed. RIP

The funniest part of that story was that the sports reporter for his show only began reporting the women's NCAA basketball scores that week after Imus accused him of being a racist misogynist for reporting men's scores for stupid local colleges while overlooking the women's NCAA games. LMAO.
