Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warrens suite of Green New Deal policies would create up to 10.6 million jobs over the next decade, according to an independent analysis the campaign promoted on Friday morning.
The study, by the left-leaning think tank Data for Progress, calculated that the Massachusetts senators plan to spend $3 trillion on clean energy and transitioning the military and other federal programs away from fossil fuels would create at least 5.4 million jobs over the next decade. But that number could top 10.6 million when counting the way her proposals could ramp up domestic manufacturing of batteries and renewable-energy hardware that could be exported.
The focus on manufacturing and the way her office situates manufacturing and renewables surprised me in that it could become a huge locus for jobs, said Data for Progress senior fellow Kira McDonald.
The research draws on the work of economists Ha-Joon Chang of Cambridge University and the late Alice Amsden of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, whose work show that an active industrial policy like the Green New Deal has as a rule been associated with economic success stories and development miracles historically. Using prior analysis from the Economic Policy Institute, the study projects how new federal goals would increase demand in specific sectors.

Yeah. And it will cost many times more jobs.
Yes. Another lie.
In China, India, and DC, right?
In China, India, and DC, right?
Ya better stop killing babies so we have enough working folks.
and cost 50 million jobs
Only 300000 per new job.
Oh pulllleeeeeeeeeeeese.

Obama’s Green Jobs created how many millions of jobs ?
10 million Judge Dredds with the authority to execute you for using a plastic straw
Things are reaching the “tipping point” when the actual candidates themselves begin to believe the goofy ideas they are peddling.
Like Obamas green job plan created all those jobs? You know, the ones created until the federal dollars ran out!
Government subsidized jobs which worsen our economy, not improve it.

Grave diggers.
Technological advances in the design of batteries as storage devices for generated electrical power is still woefully short of the capabilities being demanded.
Many of the more exotic designs are either much more hazardous than the current battery design, or made with such critically rare elements as to make their vastly expanded application impossible.
A sodiumsulfur battery is a type of molten-salt battery constructed from liquid sodium (Na) and sulfur (S). This type of battery has a high energy density, high efficiency of charge/discharge and long cycle life, and is fabricated from inexpensive materials. The operating temperatures of 300 to 350 °C and the highly corrosive nature of the sodium polysulfides, primarily make them suitable for stationary energy storage applications. The cell becomes more economical with increasing size.
It is also a potential firebomb, flinging out both sodium metal and what is known as brimstone into an oxygen-rich atmosphere, should there be the least breach of its container.
Both lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride batteries contain the rare earth elements lanthanum and neodymium, as well as an alloy of rare earth metals, mischmetal. These REEs offer greater power and are economically feasible compared to petroleum-based transportation.
Only, recovery and mining of these REEs is a very critical limitation on building such an infrastructure, and quickly lose whatever feasibility they may have, as the limited supply could not possibly keep up with the demand.
The world is going to be using carbon-based fuel to power industry well into the 22nd Century, or perhaps beyond.
Need a graphic with a tank or aircraft with a windmill on top, or maybe solar panels.
So, do it in Massachusetts, first. Get back to us with a report card in 10 years or so.
I dont consider collecting unemployment to be a job.
Census takers dont count as green jobs.
This woman has either lost all commonsense or just pandering to millenials and eco-dipshits. Plus, her economic projections just don't work.
