Things are reaching the “tipping point” when the actual candidates themselves begin to believe the goofy ideas they are peddling.

Like Obama’s green job plan created all those jobs? You know, the ones created until the federal dollars ran out!

Technological advances in the design of batteries as storage devices for generated electrical power is still woefully short of the capabilities being demanded.

Many of the more exotic designs are either much more hazardous than the current battery design, or made with such critically rare elements as to make their vastly expanded application impossible.

A sodium–sulfur battery is a type of molten-salt battery constructed from liquid sodium (Na) and sulfur (S). This type of battery has a high energy density, high efficiency of charge/discharge and long cycle life, and is fabricated from inexpensive materials. The operating temperatures of 300 to 350 °C and the highly corrosive nature of the sodium polysulfides, primarily make them suitable for stationary energy storage applications. The cell becomes more economical with increasing size.

It is also a potential firebomb, flinging out both sodium metal and what is known as brimstone into an oxygen-rich atmosphere, should there be the least breach of its container.

Both lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride batteries contain the rare earth elements lanthanum and neodymium, as well as an alloy of rare earth metals, mischmetal. These REEs offer greater power and are economically feasible compared to petroleum-based transportation.

Only, recovery and mining of these REEs is a very critical limitation on building such an infrastructure, and quickly lose whatever feasibility they may have, as the limited supply could not possibly keep up with the demand.

The world is going to be using carbon-based fuel to power industry well into the 22nd Century, or perhaps beyond.

"clean energy and transitioning the military..."

Need a graphic with a tank or aircraft with a windmill on top, or maybe solar panels.

So, do it in Massachusetts, first. Get back to us with a report card in 10 years or so.

Oops, forgot ships of all things. They'd probably match up well with the windmills with so much ocean breeze. Also forgot about our subs. Windmills and solar won't work, how about off-duty personnel pedaling stationary bikes to charge the batteries?

This woman has either lost all commonsense or just pandering to millenials and eco-dipshits. Plus, her economic projections just don't work.
