Toward the beginning of Thursday's Democratic presidential primary debate, the seven candidates went after the current state of the economy, something the President Trump has repeatedly lauded during his presidency.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said that despite the growing economy, the middle class was suffering.
"The middle class is getting killed; the middle class is getting crushed," former Vice President Joe Biden argued. "The working class has no way up, as a consequence of that," he added.
Biden also cited a statistic, saying that 40 percent of the farmers in the Midwest couldn't pay their bills last year.
Pete Buttigieg, Mayor of South Bend, Ind., had similar views regarding the American middle class.
"Where I live, folks aren't measuring the economy by how the Dow Jones is doing, they're measuring the economy by how they're doing," Buttigieg said.

He said despite how well the economy is doing, Democrats would make Trumps' alleged failed economy an issue.
Whats not working for most Americans is Democratic lawmakers.
Scale back welfare to mostly those people who cannot reasonably work due to real medical disabilities. The able bodied will then get jobs like the rest of humanity. The economy is bustling at a very fast pace and there are help wanted signs almost everywhere. The economy doesnt help welfare recipients much but once they get jobs they rise above the beggar level the D party has kept them down at.
The RATS are totally clueless.
I struggled since 2001 with constant veiled threats from my company that I could be replaced by workers from India.
The only response was to work even harder.
Now I work very hard but their are no threats and management is happy to have me working for them.
It all started around 2016.
I would like to think a majority of DEM voters don’t believe this, but the solidly left in this country are a lost cause.
Same playbook, same rhetorical drivel for the last 50 years from the RATS. Nothing ever changes......
Anybody who still supports the Democrats has a criminal heart.
As Jesus Christ said, “the poor will always be with you”. In any economy, no matter how robust there will always be some who are not doing nearly as well as others.
The dems always have and always will exploit this fact. All Socialists/Marxists do.
They use this fact to their advantage to push their “Capitalism Just Isn’t Fair” agenda.
What they never talk about is the fact that their agenda will not make everyone successful. It will make everyone equally miserable. Except, of course, the Socialist/Marxist Elite pushing their Central Gov’t Power Grab agenda.
My son holds two jobs, has two other job offers, and is taking a second interview for yet another job. He’s a recent college graduate, and it’s not a matter of whether or not he gets a job, but exactly what KIND of job you want.
It’s working for me.
Full employment says otherwise...
In a Socialist party, nobody gets ahead. What are Sanders and Warren talking about?
"The middle class is getting killed; the middle class is getting crushed," former Vice President Joe Biden argued. "The working class has no way up, as a consequence of that," he added.
And how much of that is because cheap vote Democrats and cheap labor Republicans are insisting that the border stay open and everyone can come one in? If it weren't for the amount cheap labor coming in the wages on the bottom end would be moving up based on supply and demand.
There’s the smell of desperation in the air.
It shows the elected class of RATS think their voters are as dumb as dirt and they can lie to them without worrying about them rebelling. They loathe conservatives, but they acknowledge us as a threat, but their own voters they treat like puppets because they have absolutely no respect for any of them!
Ditto
Meanwhile yes it is.
Democrats lie. Always.
Yeh we need more burdensome regulations and higher taxes to get this economy going. Nice try morons.
