Scale back welfare to mostly those people who cannot reasonably work due to real medical disabilities. The able bodied will then get jobs like the rest of humanity. The economy is bustling at a very fast pace and there are help wanted signs almost everywhere. The economy doesn’t help welfare recipients much but once they get jobs they rise above the beggar level the D party has kept them down at.
kick out illegals and then plenty more work available too.

Great idea whose time has come, as you said scale back welfare and people will think jobs look good after all.
Problem is people now believe we owe them entitlements instead of feeling embarrassed (as the late great Paul Harvey said).
And people shifted to expecting the Government to take care of all health care needs for them-—a reverse of around 8-10 years ago opinions.
And the age 38 “boys” who still live in mom’s basement playing video games and eating Cheetohs and Dorritos feel fine about it.
Overheard a guy in a store “My father really means it this time, I think. He’s sort of drawn a line that in a couple of months when I turn 35 I have to get a full time job and my own place and move out. This time I think he’s serious.”
The problem is that welfare often pays much more than an unskilled, uneducated worker can make.
Liberals have a very hard time having a boss.
