House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday defended her decision to hold off on sending impeachment articles to the Senate, calling Mitch McConnell a "rogue leader" in an unusual press conference where she repeatedly tried to shut down questions about the impeachment process.
Pelosi spoke to reporters after Democrats passed two articles of impeachment against President Trump in a Wednesday evening vote. She indicated the House would eventually send the articles over to the upper chamber, but insisted it is up to the Senate to determine how the process develops going forward.
“The next thing for us will be when we see the process that is set forth in the Senate, then we’ll know the number of managers that we may have to go forward, and who we would choose,” Pelosi said Thursday.
After an impeachment in the House, the articles are normally sent over to the upper chamber for an impeachment trial, but Pelosi signaled earlier that the House is waiting for the Senate to set out how Trump's trial will be conducted before they determine next steps, such as designating impeachment managers who will represent them. This prompted outrage from Republicans who worried she would simply refuse to transmit the articles, thus denying Trump the chance at acquittal.
Pelosi made clear Thursday that she is not prepared to name those managers yet "because we don't know the arena we are in." As she did Wednesday, Pelosi insisted House Democrats want to see a "fair process"...

All that plastic in her lips and face has finally started leeching its way into her brain.
It can’t go on forever. At some point this sham comes to an end. Otherwise she could hold off until the Senate is in Dim hands.
Well, she’s showing her stupidity. Up to this point, apparently the “Lawfare” group was running her, but by directly insulting Yertle—whom the rank and file senators like-—she is aligning them against her and they may be inclined to change the rule so as to take up impeachment without official transmission.
By calling Mitch McConnell a “rogue leader” she is seriously undermining Constitutional system.
Wow, she has truly lost her mind. She no longer has any leverage, and she should have known that as soon as the articles were approved. Picking a fight with the Senate Majority leader? That will not end well for the Democrats.
Now the next step is in the Senate hands that I am sure they are prepared to take!
We now have the equivalent of a Third World government.

If a case is not brought to court then it never happened.
Until pelosi sends the articles to the Senate, there is really nothing to negotiate. When the Senate receives her paperwork, it can be considered.
I just saw the presser, she took two questions on impeachment then refused to take any more, she was flustered and look demented.
When you hate the Constitution, provoking a constitutional crisis is no big deal.
