Ruth Bader Ginsburg spoke with the BBC this week about the upcoming impeachment trial in the US Senate.
During her questioning Justice Ginsburg suggested that US Senators could be disqualified from the proceedings if they are not impartial.

Hmmm??? Justice Ginsberg... a few questions:
1. Who would have the authority to disqualify them?
2. Could that theoretically include all 100 of them?
3. Could “impartial” be defined like “is” was in the Clinton impeachment?

Don’t get to claim the Court needs to stay out of it because it is a “political process” and then try to interfere because you don’t like how the process is going.
That's an interesting question. The constitution doesn't suggest a voir dire process exists for what senators can vote on articles of impeachment.

What about the Chief Justice (who must preside at the Senate Impeachment trial) ... Roberts, the CJ, heads up the FISA court. This makes him a “fact witness” if FISA is brought up (and surely it will be) ... a judge cannot be a judge and a witness at the same time. The Constitution says the CHIEF JUSTICE must preside. If Roberts has to testify, then he has to give up the Chief Justice title to another member of the supreme court who would then preside. Roberts loses CJ. (hmmmm?)

RBG should remain silent on things about which she has no knowledge, which includes The Constitution and its provisions.
If she is telegraphing that the chief justice will do this, I truly believe these folk have no idea how thin the people's patience has been worn by this entire process.
