In Virginia, many counties are forming county militias, to thwart Virginia’s anti-gun government.

I’m an avid reloader so I’ve got enough components to assemble ammo for the D Day invasion.

The Democrats never ending push for gun control has resulted in Americans being by far the best armed population in the history of the world. I have absolutely no doubt that if not for that fact we would be neck deep in a socialist government now. After the 2008 election when the democrats had both the Senate and the House, the Obama administration would have restructured the entire government and probably made a lot of Americans disappear if not for the fact that we’re armed to the teeth. As it is they just shoved Obamacare and a bunch of other socialist garbage down our throats, but if they didn’t have to fear an armed uprising I believe they’d have been much, much bolder in what they did.

Yeah, me too. As a matter of fact, my dealer just called today to tell me my new Sig was lost overboard before he even had the opportunity to delivery it. I have the worst luck. All my handguns are in Davey Jones’ locker.

I must say (for the record): “Guns are dangerous. Speaking for myself, I would not own one.“

I know many of you agree.

Ammunition needs to be stored properly. Amazon sells desiccants. I seal the primers of the rounds I carry with fingernail polish.

If they treat us like this when we’re armed
Can you imagine they would act if we weren’t.

For instance, my 1930’s era Mosin-Nagant is not included in that figure.

It is if imported since 1986.

That’s probably a low ball figure.

Mosin-Nagint 1891/30 from the Tula armory in 1938. The original iron sights are extremely accurate to 500 meters. Someday I hope to test the ladder sight at its maximum of 2000 meters.

Simpler and more reliable than even an AK. It is the oldest battle rifle still in continuous use.

Yep. I jumped on the Mosin bandwagon pretty early back in the early oughts because of the deal I got (AIM Surplus). Got the ‘31 hex with the bayonet, web sling, two ammo pouches, cleaning/field tool kit, oil/solvent can, paid an extra $10 for hand select and got all matching serials, and I think I only paid $79.95 for it, plus shipping. And don’t we remember the surprise we got when we opened the box - it took hours to get all the cosmo off/out of the thing. LOL! But, it’s a nice one. Sometimes I still sit here and look at it in the rifle rack. Being of Germanic heritage, I occasionally wonder if some Commie didn’t use it to put a bullet through one of my great uncles on a battlefield somewhere. Heaven knows we still have a lot of relatives back in the Old Country. I’d have loved to have gotten a Mauser, but they were too rich for my blood. The biggest self ass-kicking I continue to apply was from back in the late 80’s. A buddy called me and said there was a gun shop down his way in VA that was selling wooden crates of M-1 Garands, three per crate, for $100 a pop. As-is, no guarantees what might be inside, just three of them, assembled and intact. There could be bent barrels, busted stocks, any number of defects. He figured, well, if you could rebuild one good M-1 out of the three (likely), you paid for your investment. Get two in useable condition (possible), and you scored a deal. Three functional out of the crate (you win the lottery), you were the envy of the shooting range. Unfortunately, neither of us had an instant $100 in liquid capital in those days, so we let the idea die right there over the phone. To this day, it still depresses me. LOL

"To this day, it still depresses me. "

I sold a gun once. It didn't work right so I insisted that the dealer take it back. If I knew then what I know now I would have fixed it myself.

I also regret not buying a pair of 1903s which had consecutive serial numbers and had been completely rebuilt. They looked new. $750 for the pair. I'm not a collector. I want to shoot my stuff.

...Just under 423 million firearms were produced or imported for civilian ownership in the United States from 1986 to 2018...

I am greatly saddened that we are such a nation of underachievers.

We much increase our efforts to be properly armed.

I think we all have those bang your head on the wall moments when we look back and realize what a wrong decision we made at a particular moment.
